Robert Anderson
Winder
Robert Anderson, Jr., 78, of
Winder, died Monday, December
31, 2007.
He was a native of Borden
Springs, Ala., and
the son of the late &4&I -
Bobby Anderson, -
Sr., and Mary Lou
Wilkins Anderson. He was a
member of Emmanuel Worship
Center and was a retiree of CSX
Rail Transportation System,
with 43 years of service, where
he served as maintenance fore
man. Mr. Anderson was a vet
eran, having served in the United
States Army during the Korean
Conflict. He was preceded in
death by sisters, Bernice Parsons
and Lucille Burke.
Survivors include his wife,
Beverly DeLay Anderson; chil
dren, Robert “Andy” Anderson,
III, Pompano Beach, Fla., Steven
Anderson, Braselton, Sheryl Ann
Rumley, Auburn, and Terri Lynn
Mathis, Winder; sister, Betty
Hollis, Phoenix, Ariz.; eight
grandchildren; and 12 great
grandchildren.
Funeral services were held
Wednesday, January 2, 2008,
in the chapel of Carter Funeral
Home with Pastor and friend,
Larry Pruett, and Mr. Bob Silcox
officiating. Burial was in Barrow
Memorial Gardens.
Carter Funeral Home, Winder,
was in charge of arrangements.

Floy Williams
Lula
Floy E. Williams, 88, of Lula,
died Monday, January 7, 2008,
at her residence, following a
brief illness.
She was born in Jackson
County, the daughter of the late
Eugene Gee and Ollie Smith
Gee. She was a member of
Timber Ridge Baptist Church
and was preceded in death by her
husband, Harry Williams; step
mother, Ruth Gee; and brothers,
Donald Gee and B.C. Gee. Mrs.
Williams was a loving mother,
grandmother, great-grandmoth
er, and great-great-grandmother
and friend, loved ones states.
She was loved by all that knew
her.
Survivors include daughters
and sons-in-law, Shirley and Jack
Hudgins, Oakwood, Joan and
David Waldrep, Commerce, and
Tammy and Randy Buffington,
Lula; sons and daughter-in-law,
Jimmy E. Williams, Washignton,
and Billy Ray Williams, Lula, and
Harry W. and Sandy Williams,
Gainesville; 17 grandchildren;
24 great-grandchildren; and five
great-great-grandchildren; a
sister, Peggy Gee, Gainesville;
brothers, Larry Gee, Dahlonega,
Pug Gee, Doug Gee and Roger
Gee, all of Gainesville, Gary
Gee, Gillsville; and a host of
other family and friends.
Funeral services were held
Wednesday, January 9, at Timber
Ridge Baptist Church with
the Revs. Dean Bryant, Alvin
Burns, Chris York, Billy Poole,
and Vernon London officiating.
Burial was at Memorial Park
Cemetery.
Memorial Park Funeral Home,
Gainesville, was in charge of
arrangements.

Christie Seagraves
Winder
Christie Seagraves, 34, of
Winder, died Saturday, January
5, 2008.
Born in Anderson, S.C.,
she was the daughter of Larry
Seagraves of Winder and Linda
Seagraves of Lavonia. She had
worked as a hairdresser at Clip
& Curl and at Family Health
Association.
Survivors in addition to her
parents, include daughters,
Grayson Brewer, Maplesville,
Ala., and Emily Duck, Lavonia;
sister and brother-in-law, Heather
and Patrick Fowler, Winder;
niece, Jessie Fowler; and neph
ews, Cody, Payton and Mason
Fowler; and grandparents, Mary
and Hamp Morris, Canton.
Funeral services will be held
Thursday, January 10, at 2 p.m.,
at Smith Memory Chapel with
Bishop Wayne Moore officiat
ing. Burial will be in Barrow
Memorial Gardens.
Smith Funeral Home, Winder,
is in charge of arrangements.

Lillian Kinsey
Jefferson
Lillian Payne Kinsey, 81, of
Jefferson, died Friday, January
4, 2008.
She was born on July 6, 1926,
in Jackson County, the daughter
of the late Deward Mays “Bud”
and Beatrice Worley Payne.
She was a retired supervisor
for General Times, attended the
Jackson County
SeniorCenter,and I I
was a member of
the Living Word
Worship Center. ^
Mrs. Kinsey was
preceded in death
by husbands,
Bay Holmes and
Thomas Ray Kinsey.
Survivors include daughters
and son-in-law, Sybil and Bill
Fulghum, Jefferson, and Nita
Nix, Gainesville; five grandchil
dren; 13 great-grandchildren;
and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held
Sunday, January 6, at the Living
Word Worship Center with the
Revs. Jerrell Beatty, Dennis
Kesler and Mark Mobley offi
ciating. Burial was in Woodbine
Cemetery in Jefferson.
Pallbearers were Leon Holmes,
Thomas Holmes, James Holmes,
Dwight Griffin, Robert Akin and
Todd Benton.

was in charge of arrangements.

Healan
Jefferson
Emmaleen Mae Campbell
Healan, 80, of Jefferson, died
Sunday, January 6, 2008.
She was born on May 30,1927,
in Jackson County, the daughter
of the late Rev. Clay Campbell
and Annie Martin Campbell. She
was a homemaker
and a member of
the White Plains
Baptist Church.
She also ran the
sandwich shop
at the Crawford
Long Pharmacy
for years. Mrs.
Healan was preceded in death
by her husband, Royce Russell
Healan; and a daughter, Joan
Wilson.
Survivors include a son and
daughter-in-law, Tom and
Christina Healan, Jefferson; sis
ters, Kathleen Bryant (her twin),
Pendergrass, and Dianne Farrow,
Smyrna; three grandchildren;
and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held
Wednesday, January 9, at White
Plains Baptist Church with the
Revs. Kevin Page, Jack Lawson
and Mike Phillips officiating.
Burial was in the church cem
etery. Pallbearers were Clay
Wilson, Howell Wilson, Darrell
Hogan, Dave Farrow, Jimmy
Gooch and Bobby Gooch.
Memorial contributions may be

Regil Daniel
Jefferson
Sgt. Major (retired) Regil Leon
Daniel, 69, of Jefferson, died
Tuesday, January 1, 2008, at his
residence.
He was bom and raised in
Oconee County, son of the
late John Otis and Mary Myrt
Griffeth Daniel. IKWWH ~
He proudly served nfinmn -
for 22 years in the —
United States Army
Reserves from 1959-1981
with the 357th Quarter Master
Company and the 1014th Service
& Supply Company in Athens.
From 1981-1992, 11 years, he
served active duty in the Georgia
Army National Guard with the
TLAT Battalion, Winder, and
Headquarters STARC Recmiting
& Retention, Atlanta. He proud
ly served a total of 33 years in
the military and retired with the
rank of Sergeant Major.
Following his retirement from
the military, he worked full time
with Athens Regional Medical
Center in Athens as a security
officer, where he was part of
the lead officer team. He retired
from ARMC in 1992 and contin
ued to work part time until the
early part of 2007.
Survivors include his wife,
Shirley Daniel, Jefferson; sons,
Jeff Daniel and Chad Daniel,
both of South Jackson County;
granddaughters, Ashley Daniel,
Athens, Breanna Daniel, Gray,
and Grade Daniel, Athens; and a
brother, Jack Griffeth, Fairhope,
Ala.
Funeral services were held
Friday, January 4, in the chapel
of Bernstein Funeral Home with
Drs. Bill Carpenter and Ronnie
Healan officiating. Burial was at
Evergeeen Memorial Park with
full military honors. Pallbearers
were members of the military.
Honorary pallbearers were the
Athens Regional Medical Center
Security Services, South Jackson
Fire Department, Dean Stringer,
Mark Puckett, Tim Burke,
Tommy Kesler, James Jackson,
Dan Kotz, Kevin Gordon, Greg
Tolbert, Milton Bradberry, Eddie
Williams and Jake Stringer.

Ronnie Hutchins
Winder
Ronnie Hutchins, 51, of
Winder, died Thursday, January
3, 2008.
Bom in Orangeburg, S.C., he
was the son of the late Clyde
H. and Annie A. Hutchins. He
was funeral director/embalmer
and location manager for Smith
Funeral Home for 26 years, and
was a graduate of Gupton Jones
College of Funeral Services. He
had served as deputy coroner
for Barrow County since 1996,
and was a member of Midway
Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife,
Kim Royster Hutchins, Winder;
a son, Steve Hutchins, Statham;
daughters, Rhonda Hutchins,
Statham, and Lindsey Royster,
Winder; mother-in-law, Martha
Royster, Winder; sister-in-law,
Lisa Hendrix, Statham; and a
brother-in-law, Jeff Royster,
Lilbum.
Funeral services were held
Saturday, January 5, at Smith
Memory Chapel with the Rev.
John Burchfield and Linwood
Smith officiating. The body was
cremated after the service.
Smith Funeral Home, Winder,
was in charge of arrangements.

Carl Murphy
Braselton
Carl L. Murphy, 86, of
Braselton, died Saturday, January
5, 2008.
Bom in Barrow County, he
was the son of the late Carl L.
Murphy Sr. and Beulah Morgan
Murphy. He was a member
of Zion Baptist Church and
Rockwell Lodge. Mr. Murphy
was a veteran, having served in
the United States Marines dur
ing World War II,

first wife, Parielee
Towler Murphy.
Survivors include his wife,
Mildred Haynes Strickland
Murphy, Braselton; a daugh
ter, Caren Blair, Jasper, Fla.;
sons, Wesley Murphy, Seneca,

Emory Murphy, Tifton, and
Jesse Murphy, Sugar Hill; broth
ers, Ceylon Murphy, Covington,
and Leylon Murphy, College
Park; nine grandchildren; and
nine great-grandchildren.

Monday, January 7, in the cha
pel of Evans Funeral Home with
the Rev. Parrish Myers officiat
ing. Burial was in Zion Baptist
Church Cemetery.

Ruby Jones Pledger, 86, of
Jefferson, died Saturday, January
5, 2008.
Bom in Manchester, she was
the daughter of the late Garver
and Loree Crowe Jones. She
was retired from the Jackson
County Senior Center, and was a
member of the Lebanon United
Methodist Church. Mrs. Pledger
was preceded in death by her hus
band, Robert Alexander Pledger;
and grandchildren, Kenny and
Debbie Logan.
Survivors include a daughter,
Janice Pledger Logan, Jefferson;
son, Alex Pledger, Jefferson;
brother, Cecil G. Jones, Bogart;
grandchildren,
Kevin Pledger
and Amy Philo;
great-grandchil
dren, Katelyn,
Aaron, Andrew
and Robert Philo.

Hoschton
Larry Gene Keith, 65, of
Hoschton, died Monday, January
7, 2008.
A native and lifelong resident
of Jackson County, he was the
son Ruby Keith of Maysville
and the late Henry T. Keith. He
was a retired poultry worker and
mill industrial worker.
Survivors in addition to his
mother, include a daughter and
son-in-law, Teresa and Keith
Williams, Gainesville; son and
daughter-in-law, Dwayne and
Elizabeth Keith, Hoschton;
grandchildren, Carrie, Cody,
