The crops have been bonefitted by the
Hate rains whi6h have fallen in most por¬
tions of our county. Date com and cotton
have received most benefit. On sandy
lands, the rust has made its appearanea
And is doing much damage on some farms,
•of its extent no oqo can judge. Early
•cotton has gnown tat Utile for some weeks
'past and is now blooming on the top. It
•can only make what it may retain of the
forms now on it, “barring accidents.” It
as now no longer to be expected that we
««ltall make more than an average crop.—
Aod even this much cannot be done, but
•under the most favorable circumstan¬
ces.
• Photoobats.— Mr. Glenn is now pro
tducing some beautiful speoimens of Pho-
4ograp Pictures. Thoso in want of Ph(v

for a good hit.
' The District School.— The District
Meeting held in Milledgeville, decided
that they Would, by a unanimous vote, es¬
tablish a District School and locate it in
•our village. Wc trust that it will proy,e
: an entire success. With a-compctent and
industrious corps of teachers and the co
^operaton of the citizens of both town and
county, it must needs he a very decided
benefit to our people. Our location is
•'healthy, accessible and in every other way
.adapted to the object. Now, let us all do
«our duty and we shall not fear the result.
