Fire in Macon.
While in macon, yesterday we
witnessed the burning of the roof off
the building occupied by J. H. Zei
lin & Co., Druggist, at the corner
•2d and cherry streets. We were glad
to learn that they had saved—though
in a damaged condition-most
their stock 1 tho princiba! loss being
by breakage etc,, in removing—and
that they were partially insured—
They have commenced fitting up
and will continue business at the
same place during the rebuilding of
the store.
Wednesday Night found the mem¬
bers of the Debating Club at
post. The question “should a man
ever obey it law which he believes
to be morally wrong?” was argued
so equally by the gentlemen of each
side, that the President could not
decide tbs issue. At the next meet¬
ing, the debate will be upon
suppression of grog shops—a

and, we trust it will be well
