gular prospectus. Our vi. ws it is Due. have been
briefly set forth in the first number of * ar paper, bu
its circulation, at tnat early period was oi course, ve
ry limited, and they could not b»- very widelv dissemr
inMed. Under these circumstances, presenting out
Prospectus, it is but right that we should, in as few
words as practicable, reiterate them. Our Country,
our Slate, and our Horne, have an equal claim, and
'heir several and uuiled interest, it shall ever be our
aim to promote.
The general politics of our beloved country, shall
■ cca-ionally occupy our columns, but as Editors, we,
disclaim all political party connections. A strict and
undt viatmg neutrality, shall always characterize our
writings, for reasons which are good, and substantial.
Our patrons and friends are found among those of
both parues, an 4 it is at th* ir Buggesiion, we consent
to pursue this course, for the establishment of ihepa*
per is desired by all, and could not be sustained ex
cept by a Union of both. Thus then, we are engaged
and io our triends of both parties, to our patrons, and
to the public-—we pledge our best, and mom unremit
