The Republican ballot Incumbent Governor Sonny Perdue is facing Ray Mcßerry, a Norcross busi nessman who supports gpo ing back to the 1956 Georgia flag. Former State Senator Casey Cagle and former head of the Christian Coalition Ralph Reed are seeking the nomination for Lieutenant Governor of Georgia. For the nomination for Secretary of State, the can didates are Charles Bailey, Karen Handel, Eric Martin andßillStephens. Incumbent State School Superintendent Kathy Cox has a challenge, for the party’s nomination from Danny J. Carter. Former U.S. Rep. Mac Collins has opposition on the ballot from James Neal Harris of Gray. Gary Black, Bob Greer, Brian Kemp and Deanna Strickland are on the bal lot for the nomination for Secretary of Agriculture, while Brent Brown and Chuck Scheid are vying for Commissioner of Labor. Houston County Commissioner Jay Walker is facing a challenge from political newcomer Wayne Overholt. Tony Sellier and Meg Nichols are in a battle for the nomination for the 136th District seat in the Georgia House of Representatives. A number of candidates, including 145th District Rep. Willie L. Talton, 146th District Rep. Larry O’Neal, 147th District Rep. Johnny Floyd, and State Senators Cecil Staton and RossTolleson are unopposed in the Republican Primary. County Commission Chairman Ned Sanders, Solicitor General Rob Tawse, and Clerk of State Court Carolyn “Sissi” Gann, are also running without oppo sition. The Democratic Ballot U.S. Rep. Jim Marshall of Macon, is running unop posed for the Democratic nomination for the Bth Congressional District. A number of candidates for the Georgia House and Senate are also on the bal lot, including Beth Perera, 136th District; Ronald Bass, 145th District; Scott Taylor, 146th District, and incumbent State Senator Robert Brown.
