Judge George F. Nunn, Jr.
asked him repeatedly if he
understood what he was
doing and Pannell answered
“yes sir,” choking up more
each time.
Nunn sentenced Pannell
to life for the murder and
aggravated assault of Selicia
Darlington, 21. He received
an additional five years for
the gun charge. The gun
trafficking charges were
pending at the time of the
murder plea.

The mayor also expressed
his disapproval several times
over a five-lane road going
through the city and vowed
to “fight a five-lane road
beyond Thompson Street.”
Eidson told the group that
they need to seriously look
at the planning and zoning
requirements.
“When you start develop
ing, you need to have those
codes in place,” he explained.
“You need to identify areas
and then move forward with
code enforcement. Then
when you have a developer,
we will have it in place.”
The reason, according
to City Attorney Rebecca
Ty dings, is to prevent
“sprawl development” in
the middle of the identified
downtown area.
“Council is willing to move
quickly to protect an area,”
she added.

WOW, I went by that great new subdivision Sugarloaf. [
Yea they are built by tarter-Wilkes Construction Inc. I
and they have extended the special buyer bonus? ,
No, What's the bonus? If you contract and close on one
of their 5 completed homes within 30 days of the contract
acceptance, you get $1,500.00 to use for anything you wish,
and the builder will still pay up to $3,000.00 towards your
closing cost. WOW, I have seen those homes and they
are all brick on Ig. lots with such quality features like
custom cabinets, security systems, sod & sprinklers. Well
I heard that Karen had available a 100% loan program with no PMI! I think that
we need to go visit with Karen again before they are all gone.
