The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mary Grace Martin and the late Waldo Martin of Hahira and Emma Lou McConnell and the late Joe McConnell of Valdosta. She attended Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville where she earned her bachelor of arts degree in English. The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. James Kessler, Sr. of South Charleston, W. Va. and is working towards his bachelor of science degree in Criminal Justice. The wedding is planned for Oct. 28 at Perry United Methodist Church with a reception to follow at the Holiday Inn in Perry. Anniversary Wf% iwk \ '' && jnHHy Joe and Imelda Smith Smith 50th Joe and Imelda Smith of Warner Robins celebrated their 50th wedding anniver sary at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church in Calvary Ky., the same church where they were married on July 28, 1956. A reception and dance fol lowed the ceremony at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Lebanon, Ky. Their children and grandchildren hosted the event. Joe Smith retired from civil service at Robins Air Force Base in 1997. He then started a building construc tion company and continues to build residential homes. Imelda is an associate bro ker at Century 21 Williams Realty. They have three children, Debby and her husband Mitch Walker of Washington D.C, Tony Smith and his wife Caroline of Atlanta, Amy and her husband Mark Red of Warner Robins. They have six grand children: Bridget Walker of Nashville, Tenn., Blair Smith of Atlanta Alyson Keenom, Samantha, Brooke, and Jordan all of Warner Robins. Camp Can Do is a program for challenged youth conducted by the Houston County YMCA. The gift was made possible from the proceeds of a recent Friend of Youth Scramble golf tournament sponsored by the club at Pine Oaks Golf Course at Robins AFB. Guillory, a local attorney, was the project officer for the golf tournament. The club thanks the many tournament sponsors and players for making this gift possible.
