require a lift station for the
next phase, going north
east in Peach County to an
18-inch line and down to
Watson Boulevard.
In Houston County, the
water line will tie into a
16-inch county line on the
southeast side of the inter
section of U.S. 41 and Russell
Parkway, and will possibly
be at the church in a couple
weeks, the council was told
last week.
Walker told city council
there is some activity out
there, and developers are
looking for sites already
zoned for commercial.
A couple other city projects
are also moving forward.
County approved the
$79,650 bid from Fairchild
Roofing of Warner Robins
for roof repairs at City Hall
and the Civic Center.
Work is almost complete
at the Lake Joy Road fire
and police stations. Work at
the Pleasant Hill fire station
is also coming along said
city Purchasing Agent Mark
Baker.
Council also approved
more than a dozen bids
including: the purchase of
four Ford F-150 trucks from
Allan Vigil Ford in Morrow
at $13,050 each or $52,200
total and about S2OO over
budget.
The bid was lower than
the area Ford dealerships
Warner Robins Ford, Wayne
Morris Ford and Brannen
Ford, but was not the low
est.
The low bid was from Carl
Black GMC at $ 11,955 each or
$47,820 for four GMC Sierra
pickups. The city opted to
stay with the Ford products
because city has been buying
them for 20 years and the
city maintenance shop is set
up for Fords, with filters and
replacement parts.
Baker noted it was the first
time he’s seen a GMC bid, as

license and noticed that the
bed of the truck had raised
3-4 inches, Dykes said.
“You can see where the
truck was altered,” Dykes
said, looking through the
wheel well and at the tail
gate.
“You could put probably
50-60 kilos in there,” Dykes
said.
“It could be opened from
the botton,” explained
Dykes, “but was bent up as
officers didn’t know how it
opened.”
While no drugs were dis
covered in the compartment,
the driver had nearly $7,000
cash on him, Dykes said.
The driver, tentatively iden
tified as Jose Isabel Penaloza
Dominguez is being held the
Houston County Detention
Center in Perry on charges
of false compartment, driv
ing without a license and a
tag violation, said Dykes.
“The name is not con
firmed yet,” Dykes said.

address,” so his prints will

the city bought the GMCs,
“it might be the only four we

Ronald Williams and
Chervette Hare had about a
four-month relationship.
Williams, 39, 106 King
Circle, Perry, tried to get
into her apartment on Broad
Street, she was telling him
to go and he got one of her
kids to let him in, explained
Perry Police Det. Anthony
Sellers.
They had an altercation in
the kitchen. “He grabbed her
and scratched her,” Sellers
said, “and she grabbed a
kitchen knife and cut him.”
He was treated and
released at Perry Hospital
for his wounds. He was
arrested and charged with
criminal trespass and bat
tery (family violence).
Hare, 40, was not charged
with the stabbing, Sellers
