Community Events ■ BLOOD DRIVE -An American Red Cross blood drive will be held at First Baptist Church-Perry, 1105 Main Street, Room 223, today from 3:30-7:45 p.m. ■ CRITICAL CONDITIONS - This program will educate and engage you in planning for ONGOMG EVENTS ■ WELLNESS WALK - Monthly evaluations include blood pressure, weight and blood sugar (if diabetic) per formed by a registered nurse at Houston Health Pavilion EduCare Center. Incentive awards will be given after completing 100 miles, 500 miles, 1000 miles and up to 2000 miles. Quarterly free dinners for all walking par ticipants and guests. The Warner Robins Recreation Department has ceramic classes available. Box 1910, Perry, GA 31069 ■ Aug., 1956 - Georgia Junior Chamber of Commer makes Perry state headquarters The Georgia Junior Chamber of Commerce voted to make Perry its state headquarters, accepting the proposal of the Perry Jaycees to provide a building basically without cost. The 900-square foot building was located on city property on Carroll Street just in front of Evergreen Cemetery. The proposal won over bids from Marietta, Albany and Milledgeville. On Mondays only, line dancing is offered from 1-2 p.m. On Wednesdays only, PVO Bingo immediately follows exercise.
