Local teens get money smart at RFCU seminar Special to the Journal Seventy-eight local area teens are a little more money smart after a visit to Robins Federal Credit Union July 31. That s when the organization held its free all-day event for teens ages 13-18 called Teens Get Money Smart. Teens during that day, and according to a release, learned about the values, beliefs and typical spending habits of teens across the country. “They learned about check ing and savings accounts, and how to manage the, as well as budget and building credit.” They also, according to the release, learned about bud geting and building credit. Teens ages 13-15 took a tour of the main branch, while those 16-18 were given a presentation of careers in the financial industry. Two even won a pair of tickets to Whitewater and Six Flags.
