Warner Robins added two
more in the fifth, three in
the sixth and two more in the

It took a mere four innings
for Warner Robins to pick up
its second win, and that was
after spotting the opposition
a 1-0 lead after one.
Twelve runs, one highlight
being Corey Stinson’s home
run, in the second wiped that
out handily enough. After
scoring one run the third,
Chatfield then iced the cake
with a grand slam in the
fourth.
He also started on the hill,
went three innings, striking
out four and allowing two
runs. Josh Pisani took over
for him and pitched a score
less fourth for the easy win.

Savannah 9. WR Rec 1
As alive as the bats were in
the previous game, they were
that much more silent in the
third. Warner Robins man
aged only five hits. Stoner
went the distance but took
the loss. Savannah led 2-0,

Newberry pitchers, who in

gain an advantage?
Anyway, it didn’t work
on Ayer (and hopefully you
realized this was all tongue
in-cheek).
He finished first in the
M-Class. He was 5-1 ... “I
pitched good the first five,”
he said, “but bad the last
game (heartburn setting in
maybe?).”
Ayer also connected for

Savannah jumped out to
a 3-0 lead in the top of the
first but then Warner Robins
responded with five in the
bottom half in this barn
burner.
Two runners reached to
bring up Stoner. He singled
as did Jimmy Wilson and
Chatfield. That tied it. John
Cater’s home run with a man
on made it 5-3.
Pisani, who started, pitched
a scoreless second and then
Warner Robins added two
more.
Savannah countered with
two in the third making it
7-5.
Pisani was touched up for
a home run and a double in
the fourth. With the score
tied, Wilson relieved him.
One of his inherited run
ners scored along with
another of his own making.
That made it 9-7 in favor of
Savannah.
Cater then hit a home run
with two on board and now
Warner Robins was back on
top. Both went quietly in the
fifth but Savannah struck
again in the sixth. This time
it scored three runs, two

Now for those who
maybe had a turkey leg or
two too many: Dane Clark

And by the way, there
were nine pitchers - out of

conspiracy theory?)
But, back to Clark. He

that mark but edged Clark

OK race fans. Sorry to have
bored you. I’m through - life
goes on. Jeremy’s signed to
race for Bill Davis Racing -
racing at Hickory this week
end (even going to have his
new number on the side of
the car ... Be nice race fans.
L-O-S-E-R is not a number.)
I’ve even found a way to
continue to watch and actu
ally enjoy the rest of the sea
son. It’s called: “C’mon Kasey,
Elliott, wreck. You can do it”
(Can you tell I’ve gotten over
my bitterness? Disclaimer:
still don’t want to see any
body hurt, and for the record,
I actually like Sadler).
And, I never, ever thought
I’d hear myself say this, but
I’m even pulling for Dale
Earnhardt, Jr., what with
him being in 10th and Kahne
circling like a buzzard out
side in 11th.
“Go Junior.” (Although I
almost vented about him spin
ning out Edwards and getting
off unscathed while Edwards
gets a fine AND probation.)
... In another vent, what’s
up with all the second-guess
ing of the Braves’ Adam
Laßoche? OK, so he botched
it - bunted when he should
have squared away. Is that
any reason for the slew of
media articles that came out
the day after and the day
after that, criticizing him/
debating his decision?
Especially in lieu of the fact
these are the same media who
over the course of the past
month have done nothing
but praise him not only for
his contributions on the field
but for overcoming attention
deficit disorder all the while.
The Associated Press even
ran a story that said experts
were even calling the miscue:
“The perfect opportunity to
discuss ADD.”
Give me a break. Reporters,
fans, see this daily. Coaches,
players make literally doz
ens of calls. If you pull it off,
you’re a god. Fail and you’re
a sinner. Debate everything
- if you’re going to debate
one, might as well debate
them ALL - and you’ll never
get the story told.

SHELTER
TO SEE THESE ANIMALS, CALL HANNAH AT
478-338-0199, or email her at HJB@yAHoo.coM.
HI. My name is "Anney"
I was rescued by the Animal
Control Officer from Hinesville.
She rescued me when I was
pregnant. She said something
about liking me because I have
a really sleek coat with a huge
bushy black tail. I am really
petite and pretty. Anyway, I had
my five children. All but one
have found great homes.
However, most people as you
know don't want to adopt an 1
older cat like myself. I want you to know though that I am very good
with other animals and I am very loving with kids. I was in a foster home
since I was pregnant, but now that my babies are gone, it is time for me
to go back to the shelter. At the shelter, time is limited for me especially
since there are sooooo many cats at the shelter. The only good news
I guess is that I am already spayed with my rabies shot. I am sure the
animal control officer would be more than happy to find me a sponsor
that would help with some vet bills if anybody was willing to pull me.
Oh well. I can only hope.
Love always, Anne
