Palfrey works as a program/
site manager for Northrop
Grumman Corporation
Technical Services.
His job brought him and his
collection to Warner Robins.
He continues his pursuit
of college football helmets,
recently adding Georgia
Military College to his col

college helmet.
“I just like football,” he
said. “I like football players.
“It’s too late in the game
to be a coach,” the 52-year
old retired Air Force major
added. “(But) It’s a way to
participate without having to
change careers.”
Palfrey hasn’t restricted his
interest to helmets. Although
his office features several, he
also has a baseball signed by
Phil Niekro and four foot
balls. Palfrey has, of course,
collected stories to go with
his mementos.
He has a football signed by
the winningest coach in col
lege football, John Gagliardi.
“I watched his team (St.
John) win the 2003 Division
111 National Championship
in the Amos Alonso Stagg
Bowl,” Palfrey said.
The coach signed a ball
