Friday morning, with a
host of elected officials and
Agricultural Exposition
Authority members on the
grandstand at 4 p.m.
This year, the fair will
run from Friday-Sunday,
Oct. 6-15. And, there’ll be
a “Sneak-A-Peek” event on
a Thursday (Oct. 5) starting
at 3 p.m.
This advance event will
cost $3 for admission with
kids 10 and under free. It
will basically offer every
thing but the livestock shows
and will include the opening
ceremony at 4 p.m., with
Sen. Ross Tolleson as host,
and a free outdoor concert in
the evening.
Then, on Friday, the fair
will open at 8 a.m. in full
swing.
On Saturday, as always,
the Georgia National Fair
and the Perry Kiwanis
Club will team up for the
big Farm/City Days Parade
from downtown Perry to
the North Gate of the fair
grounds. Mayor Jim Worrall
will be Grand Marshall.
Another new feature will
be a special “student pass,”
valid only on Oct. 10, 11 and
12, for just $lO. These need

Other stops included
on the ride include Lane

in Byron, before ending at
AP’s Hidden Hideaway.
QlO6 is also supposed to
be there, Jackson said.
Jackson said all bikes
are welcome and encour

want to make about $6,000,”
Jackson said. “We’ve collect

donations.”
The ride is the first in
what she hopes will be an
annual event to raise money
for the Ronald McDonald
House Charities. The
Ronald McDonald House
in Macon is at the Medical
Center on Forsyth Street,
for those who live outside
Bibb County, Jackson said.
“It’s been a big issue for
me,” Jackson said. She has
worked with members of the
Beta Sigma Phi, Kappa Nu
Chapter women’s sorority, to
get the house started.
The three core programs
of the charity - the Ronald

and Ronald McDonald Care

Froehlich said he is also
excited about the Nerveless

Other great new freebies
include the Showboat mari

House program began in
1974 based on a simple idea:
Provide a “home away from
home” for families of seri

treatment at nearby hospi

Since that time, more than
10 million families around
the world have benefited
from the comfort provided by
a Ronald McDonald House.
