Get festive this fall at
Georgia’s state parks
Special to the Journal
For many, fall is the best
time of year to eryoy the
great outdoors. In addition
to crisp, cool temperatures
and brilliant tree color dis
plays, the season is full of
planned activities and fes
tivals. Georgia State Parks
and historic sites offer
plenty of autumn adven
ture for families with sea
sonal favorite fun such as
hayrides, storytelling, apple
bobbing and marshmallow
roasts.
State park visitors will
find several planned events
to celebrate the fall season
this year.
While nearly every town
boasts a fall festival these
days, none have the natu
rally beautiful and ecologi
cally preserved setting of
the state park system.
Also, with most events
free of charge after paying
the $3 per vehicle parking
fee, this may just be the
best bargain around.
Below is a list of planned
events to celebrate the fall
