She received her B.S. degree in early childhood education and her masters from Georgia Southern University. She is employed by the Houston County School System, and teaches first grade at Lake Joy Elementary School. The groom-elect is the owner of Irrigation Deals in Warner Robins. CUMC is cel ebrating 11 years of this popular community out reach. The Patch is an attrac tion for kids of all ages, offering face painting, a beanbag toss, a tic-tac-toe board, and a maze. Story time with preschoolers and elementary age children is also very popular. Last year over 900 children vis ited the patch as part of pre-school or elementary groups, as well as hundreds of families who visit dur ing the month. The CUMC Pumpkin Patch offers a photo opportunity for par ents. Special photo back drops are set up around the patch grounds. This project is supported by over 200 church mem bers who volunteer their time to make this a fun outing. “Our church has always thought of this as a min istry,” says Rev. Tommy Martin. “It is an excellent outreach into the commu nity as well as being one of our biggest fund-raisers of the year. Our goal is not simply to sell pumpkins, but to also offer a warm friendly place where the presence and love of Jesus Christ can be found.
