Jeannette Lowery, who
headed up the team of cooks,
said that the group began
working on the luncheon on
Friday morning, peeling and
dicing hundreds of apples
for the Waldorf salad that
was served along with fresh
turkey wraps and a tangy
marinated vegetable medley,

cakes, were brought by
individual UMW members.
Lowery said that they kept
the luncheon light because
they knew the desserts would
be teinpting.One of the most
tempting was Ann Stafford’s
“Million Dollar Pie.”
The good news is that it’s
also very easy to make, and
requires no cooking at all.
