Morning fire destroys home From Staff Reports An early morning blaze destroyed a home at 125 Feagan Mill Road near Moody Road Thursday morning. A family of six lost everything, but suffered no injuries. Houston County Fire Chief Jimmy Williams said that the call came in shortly before 7 a m. and firefighters from five county stations, as well as from Warner Robins responded. He noted that the fire spread through the house to the attic and the destruction was total. Williams said that two military personnel from Robins Air Force Base saw the smoke on their way to work and stopped to assist the family, which included three children. The action by the commis sioners declared it surplus and sold in for $4,300 to Larry Walker, who owns all the adjacent property. Commissioner Jay Walker asked if pn assessment had been done on the site. Commissioner Larry Thomson said the tract is “of no use to anybody but the contiguous land owner. The area is zoned Residential-Agricultural and requires 200 feet of road frontage and one acre to put anything on it.” The second tract, a .27- acre parking lot for area businesses between Carroll and Main streets in Perry, near the old courthouse, was the site of the old coun ty jail now and is zoned C-3 (heavy commercial).
