Also, to those who fail to release memories of mistakes made by others. Wouldn’t it be wonder ful for people to forget the undesirable phases in lives of self and others? However, it seems that the majority finds it easier to hang on to things, which would be best forgotten than to turn loose and let go. We sometimes find our spiritual vision being blurred by things oft he past. Things God has already for given and forgotten. Our The first man with a belly button I enjoy the study of enig mas. For example, which came first the chicken or the egg? Without a chicken, you cannot produce an egg and without the egg, you cannot birth a chicken. On my desk is an ape figurine, with a quizzical look on his face, holding the skull of a human. The ape apparently is wondering how man pre ceded him in the evolution ary chain. Then there is the ques tion of the umbilical cord. Did the first man created by God have an umbilical cord? Here again you get into the question of what came first, a man with an umbilical cord or a man without an umbilical cord. Webster describes the umbilical cord as “a cord like structure connecting the navel of a fetus with the placenta (structure that houses fetus within the mother’s uterus) and serv Serving Houston County Perry • Warner Robins Member FDIC CBST I 00037528 Bank of Middle Georgia Perry DrugiC«mpjtny friendly. Remember the song that came out a few years ago . . . “He’s Still Working On Me?” and the slogan, “God ain’t finished with me yet?” If you are thinking lowly of yourself or of someone else, just remember that God is not finished - He is constantly molding our lives to make us what He wants us to be. God could have given the first man a navel, strictly for cosmetic pur poses, but it would not have resulted from the scar of a severed umbilical cord. If one subscribes to the evolutionist point of view that man descended from the ape, then he must con clude that the first man did, in fact, have a navel. That’s because an ape fetus, like a human fetus, is nourished by an umbilical cord con nected to its mother’s pla centa. According to the Bible, God created the first man, Adam, and the first woman, Eve, in the Garden of Eden. Their first son was Cain. Although neither Adam nor Eve had a navel, their first child, Cain, was the first human to boast of a belly button. As a fetus, Cain was connected to his See POWELL, page 6B abdomen.
