The Packers put 10 defenders in the box, but once King was outside, he took off. Again the pass failed for the two-point conversion, but the Bears led 18-7 going into the fourth quarter. Relying exclusively on Hudson’s arm, Colquitt tried to get back into the game. Looking at fourth and 15 on the Bears’ 35, Hudson made a desperation toss to Dontrell Johnson. The ball was tipped by a Bears defender, but Johnson cradled the ball to his chest as he fell into the end zone. Demott’s kick pulled the Packers to within four, 18- 14. Colquitt tried an onside kick but touched the ball before it went 10 yards. The Bears took possession at midfield with eight min utes and 54 seconds left in the game. You can get by that one without my help, right? Want to know what my idea of a fantasy sports team is? It has a starting pitching staff with Kevin Costner’s character from “For the Love of. the Game” and Charlie Sheen’s character from “Major League.” It also has Shoeless Joe Jackson, not the real one but the one Ray Liotta played in ‘Field of Dreams.’ On my football team, there’s quarterback Jamie Foxx and running back LL Cool J (“Any Given Sunday”). Is there fantasy for bas ketball? If so, then I plan to draft the guy Shaquille O’Neal played in “Blue Chips.” Warner Robins Bowling results Through week ending Sunday Gold Cup Bowling Center, Russell Parkway GOLD CUP BOWLING CENTER RUSSELL PKWY • New Kids on the Alley •High Scores: Conal Jackson 259-710; John Dukes 242; Anderson Sipp 651 • Rock & Rollers High Scores: Lamar Pipkin 267-680; Tony Baker 252; Si Dyer 689; Tracy Gassett 199- S 11; Jennie Lackey 197; Debra Rucker 511 • Morning Glory High Scores: Joann Kovarovic 191; Mae McGregor 191; Amy Saulmon 187; Tracy Gassett 506; Jennie Lackey 499 • Grandma's Tea Party & Company High Scores: Linda Smith 188; Brenda Bridedolph 179-482; Nina Smith 461 • Ladies Church High Scores: Cindy Crowley 205-500; Susan Moon 174-465 • Kings and Queens High Scores: Bobby Morgan 243; Bobby Mines Sr 233: James Humphreys 233; Dave Seeger 665; Tom Shimek 583; Leah Tinsley 213; Lory Amaral 204; Michelle Todd 603; Evelyn Shimek 567 • Tuesday Men's Handicap High Scores: Rusty Keadle Jr. 257; Donnie Harvey 257-657; Dave Carrick 253-655 • Coca Cola Sport Classic High Scores: Cliff Barnes 256- 602; Gordon Anderson 230; CLEATS '■ ■ ■■■ www gocomics com e-mail Cleatsmail@aoi com f YOU REAPY EOR GOME f\ t/4n4K 'RE GOIMG TO fJEEP A j l l S.ERIOU?, ROP? Some of them are pure fic tion, while others are based on actual events, like the ones produced for the ESPN network. One of the good true-life sports movies is “Miracle,” the story of the United States hockey team’s big vic tory of the USSR at the 1980 Olympics. Perhaps there were some creative liberties taken with some parts of the story, like my personal favorite. It’s when the team is playing a pre-Olympic exhibition in Europe, and the game ends in a tie. The head coach, played so well by Kurt Russell, can’t help but notice towards the end that some players are more interested in the females in the audience. What does the coach do? HOUSTON DAILY JOURNAL post-game workout. It would be the hockey equivalent of football’s grass drills and basketball’s line drills. Did it really go as far as it went on the screen? Whether it did or didn’t, I could only think of one thing. Could you imagine a modern-day Olympic coach in hockey try ing the same thing? Won’t happen. Remember, in 1980, Olympic team sports like hockey and basketball were still about amateurs as far as the United States is con cerned. That all changed in 1992 with the basketball Dream Team, and it eventually fil tered over to hockey. The million-dollar NHL star - or more importantly his agent - wouldn’t put up with that. Which reminds me, the new NHL season just started. Who knew? That’s what happens when you focus mainly on high school stuff. • Wednesday Wonders High Scores: Marc Schroeder 233-591; David Rossborough 214-537; Tony Carter 537; Lisa Maloney 198-548; Deanna Mines 198-584; Carolyn Hildenbrand 186 ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE • Women's Lib High Scores: Tina James 202; Nita Ham 195-546; Toni Majka 487 • Charity League High Scores: Larry Kronberg 221-580; Rock Hudson 216; Tony Colbert 578; Maria Branch 227-580; Juli Sumner 176-429 • osc High Scores: Sandy McTier 219-538; Nan Luna 180; Judy Goddard 437 • Tuesday Night Peterson Point High Scores: Max Shellabarger 300-814; Isaac Jones 265; Steve Feeley 685 • Intramurals High Scores: Todd Manning 259-698; Joseph Fassbender 247; Gene Lehman 671; Tez Chan 177-484; Alesia Hilton 163-464 • AFRC Mixed High Scores: Bob Walker 258- 711; Andy Lethco 258; Cornell Worthy 248; Lou Puryear 701; Allison Anderson 203-585; Sandra Harris 190; Angie Stella 190; Lori Sato 540; Renee Lethco 540 • RYA Junior-Senior High Scores: Erik Figueroa 212-579; Desi Giles 204-524; Stephanie Chan 192-502; Amanda Lethco 192-506 • Slip and Fall? • Shoulder Pain? • Arm/Leg Pain? wL % ■ Irak -MM Dr. Stacey Carter, D.C. r Injury After Hours?
