WESTFIELD From page zB The Trojans also had a big miscue in the bottom half, and Wrye made them pay with a two-run tying single. But Tattnall turned a double play with the bases loaded forcing a ninth inning. On two hits and one more Hornet error, the Trojans were back ahead by two runs, 10-8. Tattnall would then make an out at home plate in the bottom half to put it one out away from the finals. Clearman, though, put off the celebration with an RBI hit (10-9). Jones cancelled it altogether with another hit (10-10), then Pfolh sent the Trojans back to Macon with her second clutch RBI safety. VIKINGS 5. HORNETS Z (winner's bracket! With one unearned run in the second and a three run third inning, the FPD Vikings were setting them selves up for a long break. Both those innings started with Westfield errors, and FPD followed the one in the third with four hits to go up 4-0. The Hornets were able to escape further damage by leaving the bases loaded. The Westfield offense was held without a hit by Billingsly for four innings but had four baserunners. The Hornets still didn’t have a hit but got a run in the fifth on a walk, an error and a failed fielder’s choice attempt at home. Maddox came in for relief and ended it with the tying run at the plate. Westfield cut it to 4-2 on a Clearman double and Jones single in the sixth, but those would be the only two hits of the contest. Johnson had a two-out RBI double in the home sixth. The Vikings ended the game on a double play. H9RNETS 3. TROIANS 2 Itpenibß round!
