HOUSTON DAILY JOURNAL House of Thomas appearing in Perry Special to the Journal House of Thomas will be appearing at Wayne Morris Ford in Perry Saturday from 1-4 p.m. According to a release, “you don’t want to miss this special opportunity to meet the guys from House of Thomas and get a free signed copy of their debut album release ‘Without A Doubt.’” Afterward, the band will be performing a free concert at The Joshua Cup Coffee House in Macon at 9 p.m. The new House of Thomas radio single release “More Than Just Alive” is quick ly, according to the release, becoming a favorite request ed song on contemporary hit radio stations nationwide. Local volunteers join New Orleans mission Special to the Journal A number of people from Houston County recently returned from a mission trip to help with the rebuilding of homes in New Orleans. According to the team leader, Dick Hamilton, “This was our seventh trip, and they don’t get any eas ier. Brothers Ronnie and Robbie Lee pieced together an acoustic act to perform country and rock songs for a corporate church. Although most had never worked together pre viously, we worked as a well oiled machine accomplish ing God’s work. We gutted one home, and started on another. Part of the team worked on rebuilding a third ’’synopsis of what this trip entailed. They stumbled into a club gig performing week ends throughout the 1996 Summer Olympics under the name of My Brothers’ Band. A responsive crowd influ enced the band to add some additional members, move Robbie to his niche of elec tric guitar, and continue per forming wherever they were accepted. By the following year, they were performing at wed dings, corporate functions, churches, and coffee hous es all over north and west Georgia. Eight years later, in the spring of 2003 My Brother’s Band retired - enabling the Lee brothers to pursue other opportunities. Within the following month, Ronnie was asked to perform at an open mic church service. He and Robbie decided to pull things back together and do what came natural - play Christian originals for a music-loving crowd. After three rehearsals, the hours. We unload our things and locate our rooms and cots. Aurora UMC is located on the westbank, and the relief effort is headed by Kathy and Jake. “They have worked cease lessly and tirelessly since August 2005 trying to help the city get back to some semblance of normalcy. The long hours, devastation encountered, and their up beat attitudes can not be matched. The church has given up the space, and Kathy and Jake receive and validate the many requests for help. Volunteers are still gutting houses so the city can determine if they are re-buildable. The tower has four sides and is open evaluated by a profession al. Typically, children who do such things are not just going through a phase. It should be seen as a warning sign of possible persistent emotional problems. It also appears to be . associated with sexual abuse in child hood. I don’t want to alarm you or overstate the case, but adults committed to a life of violent crime were often cruel to animals in their childhood. This fact was verified in a recent study by the American Humane Association.
