This award, according to a release, “honors small juris dictions able to implement a plan that is innovative, transferable, contributes to a community’s quality of life and comprehensive in its vision and objectives.” The Big Indian Creek Waterway Project compris es approximately 55 acres obtained through donation, partnership or purchase. The Association recog nized the plan’s highlighting urban green space preserva tion, integration of the local legislative delegation from the beginning of the process and the extensive use of vol unteers and contributions from the Perry Rotary Club coordinated by the Uptown Perry Partnership, Inc. in the planning, acquisition, design and construction of the project. Dan Reuter, president of the Association, highlighted these points at the GPA’s annual conference Oct. 13.
