recognize veterans
Hey veterans. We want you ... to
tell us and the readers a little about
yourself. To that end. and in prepara
tion for your day, Veterans Day Nov.
11, we’re asking you to do just that.
We’re asking you to submit a little bit
about yourself, who you are, where
you live now (just the city is fine),
what branch of service you serve
or served in and the timeframe you
served (i.e. 1947-1967), places you
were stationed and maybe even your
greatest accomplishment.
We would even like to have a
picture of you in your hey-day (i.e. in
uniform). You can e-mail your sub

Southside Baptist to
hold festival
Southside Baptist Church of 1040
N. Houston Lake Rd. in Warner
Robins is having a Family Fall
Festival Thursday from 6-9 p.m.
There will be food, fun and fellow
ship for all ages. There will be also
be gamesand rides, as well as live
entertainment. Costumes are wel
comed. (Please no witches, devils,
ghosts or ghouls). There is also
no admission charge - only a food
donation for a local community food
bank. (Small jars of peanut butter,
jelly, can goods, dry milk, small bags
of flour and sugar and rice.)

The Tax. Commissioner’s Office
usually gets calls when the tax bills
go out.
The office has had a few more this
year because the addresses of the
property being taxed have been left
off the bill.

Halloween is Tuesday, and
this year like most others, it

Oct. 31.
In Perry,
Centerville,
Fort Valley
and Byron,
trick-or-treat
ing begins at 6 p.m. and
goes to 8 p.m. In Warner
Robins and in Houston
County, trick-or-treaters get
an additional hour.
All of this is, of course,
“while supplier, fast.’’
There are also a couple of
haunted houses and church
sponsored Halloween alter
natives or fall festivals on
Tuesday.
Law Enforcement
United Haunted House
Law Enforcement United’s
third annual Haunted House
at the Warner Robins Police
Department Training Center
will be Thursday-Saturday
and Monday and Tuesday.
The haunted house will be
open from 7:30-11:30 p.m.
on the Thursday, Monday
and Tuesday and from 7:30
p m.-midnight Friday and
Saturday.
Admission is $5. The
Training Center is on
Stalnaker Drive off Industrial
Park Drive, which is off
Ga. 247 between Cascade
Corporation and Northrop
Grumman.
AMX Haunted House
American Legion Post
172 will host its 11th annual
Perry preps for
Homecoming
Special to the Journal
Homecoming festivities for Perry
High School will culminate with the
presentation of the Homecoming
Court Friday.
During that time, the Panthers will
take on Southwest-Macon at 7:30
p.m. in the newly-named Herb St.
John stadium.
The Homecoming court will be pre
sented at halftime and last year’s
queen, Kaitlyn Ellis, will be on hand
to crown the new queen.
The Homecoming dance will take
place this year in the new Commons
area of Perry High School.
The theme of the dance is “Mardi
Gras.”
The dance will take place from
9-11:30 p.m. Admission is $5 for
students and their dates. The
Homecoming court and escorts will
be presented at 10:15 p.m.

Spearman said, “it wouldn’t be that

check with no idea of what I’m pay
ing for.”

Festival
Friendship Baptist Church
of Warner Robins will host
a Fall Festival Tuesday,
from 6-8 p.m. in the Family
Life Center of the church.

Highlights of the evening will
include inflatables for chil
dren, horse rides, face paint
ing, games, candy and food.
Children, according to a
release, will be “thrilled with
the many activities during
this evening of family fun.”
Adults, the release reads,
“will enjoy the Country Store
as well."
Supper will be served and
everyone is invited to attend.

office had been very helpful, but
added they had to look it up by the
