What the Blue Devils don’t have are an undefeated region record and first place all to them selves. Tift will want to change all of that in Tifton Friday when first-place Warner Robins High, with a 3-0 mark in 1-AAAAA, comes to town. Demons head coach Bryan Sports climb out of is Westfield Schools. As was reported over and over again in the preseason, the GISA adopted a new system for Class AAA, which has just two regions instead of four. From those two regions, four teams each will play for the state champi onship. In the south region, Westfield stands at 0-3 in a tie for last place with Sherwood Christian. The Hornets need to run the table these next three weeks in order to have an outside chance at the playoffs with a 3-3 record. Here, though, is Westfield’s big obstacle. Just ahead of the Hornets in the standings are Stratford and Deerfield-Windsor, tied for fourth Way saw Tift County first hand last week when the Blue Devils eked out a 20- 17 overtime win against Houston County High at McConnell-Talbert Stadium. Two nights later, on the same field, Warner Robins endured its own survival test against Coffee County High with a flurry of points in less than a minute. “They are like every other team in the region,” said Way about Tift County. “They don’t have any glar ing weaknesses. They are pretty wide-open on offense in the formations they run, but play-wise they are pretty basic. They get you spread out to defend the whole field. “Their defense is pretty base.
