The Houston County
Development Authority
is an integral part of The
Westfield Schools.
Jeannette Anderson,
director of admissions and
academic affairs, thanked
the authority for being an
integral part of this facility,”
referring to the new Arts
and Sciences building.
The authority lent its bor
rowing power, issuing a $1
million revenue bond for
the school to get the project
completed. The bond will be
paid back with the money
raised during the school’s
capital campaign.
The campaign’s finance
committee chairman Tee
Tolleson is a member of the
authority, but did not vote
on the decision on the bond
earlier this year. “We hope to
continue the growth of the
school and economic devel
opment in the community,”
Tolleson said.
“The new facility had done
a disproportionate amount
to add to the curriculum of
this school,” Anderson said.
“We can offer language from
the third grade up now."
The Arts and Sciences
building includes two lan
guage labs, two art labs,
a chemistry and a biology
received 1 percent; and 15
percent were undecided.
