Born in Peach County, she spent most of her life in Houston County, She was the daughter of the late Jake and Ruth (Howard) Sledge. She, along with her husband of 55 years, Marvin Dorsett, who died in 1989, was a founder of Crestview Baptist Church. She taught Sunday School for 55 years and was a president of the WMU. She was also a member of the UDC, the Home Demonstration Club, and the Georgia Homemaker of the Year through the Georgia Extension Service. Survivors include her children; Sally D. Bazemore (Ken) of Byron, Ralph Dorsett (Joan) of Perry, and Jimmy Dorsett (Brenda) of Norcross; Grandchildren, William Dorsett, Mark Dorsett, Mike Dorsett, April Foster, Andy Dorsett, Anne Dorsett, Abby Dorsett-Victor, Britt Bazemore and Brandi Bazemore; nine Grandchildren; daughter-in law, Nancy Dorsett Wadsworth (Ray) of Arley, Ala.
