HOJSTON DAILY JOURNAL
Ace Hardware celebrating growth
By CHARLOTTE
PERKINS
Journal Staff Writer
William Jackson and his
brother George come by the
hardware business natu
rally. Their grandfather and
great-grandfather ran fam
ily-owned hardware stores
that carried a little bit of
everything that local farm
ers, builders and homeown
ers might need.
That’s still the case with
the Jacksons’ stores today
You can buy anything from
a cast iron griddle to patio
furniture, from lightbulbs
to sanders, from bird food
to Christmas ornaments at
their stores.
William Jackson lives in
Perry and George Jackson
lives in Macon. Together
they own five Ace hardware
stores, including one on Sam
Nunn Blvd. in Perry and
one on South Camellia Blvd.
in Fort Valley. Two others
are on Forsyth Road and
Macon Road in Macon, and
the fifth, on Riverside Drive
in Macon has just opened.
That’s cause for a grand
opening celebration that
will not just be at the new
store, but also at all of the
Jacksons’ Ace stores this
weekend.
Here’s how to make the
most of the bargains being
offered, whether you shop at
the Ace in Perry or in Fort
Valley.
The stores will open for the
sale at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
The first 500 customers to
come into either store will
get a free flashlight.
