The faculty and staff of Perry Primary, in a release from the school, said: “they are proud to announce the BEAR students for the month of September.” BEAR students,
according to the release, are those that show “outstanding behavior and are an example for others to follow. ” Students are chosen from kindergarten and first grade classes
Kindergarten representatives were: Quentavious Brown, Antario Caldwell,Carolyn dower, Christian Ellis, Margaret Henry, Rebekah Hester, Yasmine Johnson, Hayley Karros,
Chloe Marshall,Jessica Morris, Allison Peavy, Desmond Releford, Lizbeth Soto, Benny Stafford and Bowen Thompson. First grade representatives were: Melinda Barron, Lexie
Chafin, Dakota Chapman, Sarah Fisher,Ashley Gidney,Tomarian Harrell, Ja’quez Jackson, Nathaniel Lunsford, Lanaya Mompremier, Luis Morales, Mark Salter,Richard Singleton

The band received superi
or ratings in all categories
and drumline won best in
class at the Battle of the
Border in Valdosta.
Also, the Colorguard
received both superior rat
ings and Best in Class at
both competitions.
Oct. 28, the Colorguard
also received the high
est score of any group at
the Pierce County compe
tition making them Grand
Bears of the month
LOCAL
Champions.
Per a release: “The girls
have spent countless hours
practicing and prepar
ing. Their hard work did
not go unnoticed. Great job
ladies!”

4-H horse club
place at event

Oct. 11, three young ladies
from the Middle Georgia 4-
H Horse Cluh competed and
placed at the All American
Quarter Horse Congress in
Columbus, Ohio.
The Peach County 4-H
Horse Judging team won
the right to compete at this
competition by winning
first place at the state 4-H
competition in May.
The team consisted of
Kori Patterson, Ashleigh
Day and Haley Skipper.
Horse Judging is a team
competition where all the
participants are judged
on their public speaking,
oral communication and
decision-making abilities.
The All American Quarter
Horse Congress is an event
consisting of many aca
demic, as well as riding,
competitions.
The Congress runs from
Sept. 30 Oct. 22 at the Ohio
Expo Center in Columbus,
Ohio, with thousands of

The Georgia Judging
Team competed against
26 other states, and with
only three of four possible
on their team, they placed
eighth in Reasons, eighth
in Performance and eighth
overall.
This qualified them
for the “Top Ten” at the
Congress. All three girls
received Congress medal
lions for each of the catego
ries won.
Winning the state title
eliminates this team from
any future state 4-H horse
judging events, as they
are considered to have
mastered this activity.
