Police arrest 1, seek others in robberies

Journal Staff Writer
Warner Robins Police located
and arrested one of two suspects in
Wednesday’s armed robbery of the
Carolina Avenue Phillips 66.
Police are also looking for a sus
pect in the Thursday morning rob
bery of the Long John Silver’s at
2000 Watson Blvd. There were no
injuries in either incident.

“There is some evidence that links
him to the robbery,” said Det. Scott
McSwain of the Warner Robins Police
Department Criminal Investigations

McKenzie was taken into custody
and charged with armed robbery
and obstruction of a law enforce

The County Commission,
during its meeting this
past week, again object
ed to a Perry annexation
for another Planned Use
Development.
The request was for two
parcels totaling more than
70 acres at the southwest
corner of the intersection
of Langston and Houston
Lake roads.
A third adjacent parcel
totaling 7.57 acres was also
shown on the map but was
not part of the request.

Two change orders on
the next phase of Lake
Joy Road widening will
cost the county another
$588,397.91, bringing the
cost of the two-year project
to $3,401,243.38.
The change order, for
$584,822.91, is to relocate
and upgrade the water
main along Lake Joy Road
from Ga. 96 to Feagin Mill
Road. The relocation is
necessary to resolve utility
and right of way conflicts,
