Columbus-native Bill Ploeger owns the most titles in tournament history with four. Lakes at Laura S. Walker will play at 6,368 yards and a par 72. Okefenokee Country Club will play at 6,289 yards and a par 72. Alpharetta’s Don Marsh and Kennesaw’s Larry Clark carded a final-round 73 and a tournament total 12-under 204 to hold onto their sec ond-roUnd lead and capture last year’s venue by two strokes. The duo combined to post rounds of 66 and 65 in the first two rounds of play. Contenders for this year’s title include the event’s 2003 Champions, Frank Perry of Fayetteville and Mike Jackson of Martinez. The duo finished second, two strokes off of Marsh and Clark, in 4he 2005 Senior Four-Ball Championship. Also competing for the title is Alpharetta’s Spencer Sappington and Bill Ploeger of Columbus. They teamed up in 2005 to finish in a tie for sixth position overall after carding rounds of 71, 67 and 73. They look to capture their third win in this particular event. Entries were open to two man teams of male amateur golfers who are members of a GSGA member club, resi dents of Georgia and who have reached the age of 55 by Wednesday.
