Nineteen students were part of the 3,200 Georgia FCCLA members present. The event, according to a release from Perry High School, was memorable, with the Amplify your Life theme displayed in numerous ways including skits, posters and shirts. Students were also able to listen to, according to the release, an amazing speaker in Bobby Petrocelli, 10 Seconds, Inc., as he spoke of living life to its fullest and being a leader. The largest single pre cinct for Floyd in Houston County was Bonaire Middle School where he had 427 votes to 132 for Harris. His largest percentage of votes came from the Rozar Park precinct at 84.07 percent, which was also the lowest for Harris at 15.38 percent. Rozar Park was also where Harris had the few est number of votes with only 28. Floyd’s lowest vote precinct was Morningside Elementary with 132, where Harris had 73. Harris’ highest single precinct was Kathleen with 186 votes to 412 for Floyd. His highest percentage was 46.87 percent of the votes at the Henderson Fire Station precinct, which was also the lowest for Floyd at 53.13 percent. House Districts 146 and 145 are each solely in Houston County and the incumbent Republicans Larry O’Neal and Willie Talton each defeated Democrat challeng ers about 70 percent to 30 percent. Talton defeated challenger Ron Bass 5,941 or 70.12 per cent to 2,530 or 29.86 per cent. There were two write ins. O’Neal defeated Scott Taylor 11,065 or 70.21 per cent to 4,686 or 29.74 per cent. There were also eight write-ins. Talton won each of 12 dis tricts and the absentee vote, which was also his largest single source of votes at 1,338 and the largest per centage with 78.43 percent to 21.57 percent for Bass. While his lowest percentage at 21.75 percent, the absen tee votes were the second largest source of votes for Bass with 368. His top single precinct was Northside Middle School where he had 413 votes. His highest percentage, 46.48 percent, came at the Elberta Center precinct, which was also the lowest, at 53.52 per cent, for Talton. Talton’s lowest single precinct vote count was 143 at the Warner Robins Recreation Center, which he won at 70.1 percent to the 61 votes or 29.9 percent for Bass. The lowest single votes by precinct for Bass was 47 at Bonaire Middle School, but it was his second lowest percentage at 23.8 percent. The other precincts of District 145 include m Wnßr ■? In the race for House District 146, incumbent Republican Larry O’Neal defeated Democrat chal lenger Scott Taylor 11,065 to 4,686 or 70.21 percent to 29.74 percent, with eight write-in votes. Taylor won only one of the 12 precincts, Morningside Elementary 52.08 percent to 47.92 per cent. The Democrat had 163 votes to O’Neal’s 150. Absentee votes were the largest single source of votes for both candidates with O’Neal winning 2,825 to 902 or 75.74 percent to 24.18 percent. There were also three write-ins. Absentees were also the widest vote margin in the race with 1,923 votes sepa rating the two candidates. The highest percentage for O’Neal came from the Rozar Park precinct with 77.52 percent to Taylor’s lowest percentage, 22.48 percent. The other precincts in the district include the County Annex, Bonaire Middle School, Bonaire Elementary, Feagin Mill Middle School, Houston County High School, Perry Primary, Quail Run Elementary, Russell Elementary and Ted Wright Park. All three incumbent sena tors in the Houston County delegation ran unopposed and Houston County was the largest single county in the multi-county jurisdictions for the two Republicans but lowest single county for the Democrat. Robert Brown, State Senator from District 26, had 1,552 votes over five precincts and absentee votes in Houston County. There were also 15 write-ins. Brown’s highest sin gle precinct was Lindsey Elementary with 488 votes. His lowest was three from the Crossroads Center. Senate District 26 also includes precincts at Elberta Center, Pearl Stephens Elementary and the Warner Robins Recreation Center in Houston County, as well as 31 precincts in Bibb County, five in Twiggs County and seven in Wilkinson County. Brown received 18,292 votes in Bibb, 2,070 in Twiggs and 1,769 in Wilkinson. Showing patriotism District 20 State Senator Ross Tolleson, R-Perry, had 10,141 votes in Houston County over 10 districts and absentee votes. He had 99.1 percent of the votes as there were also 92 write-in votes. Absentee votes were the sin gle largest source of votes for Tolleson with 2,427. He next highest total was 1,328 votes at Perry Primary. The lowest precinct for Tolleson was Hayneville Fire Station where he had only 259 votes from the 704 registered vot ers. The other precincts in the district include Bonaire Middle School, Bonaire Elementary, Houston County High School, Henderson Fire Station, Kathleen, Morningside Elementary and Rozar Park in Houston County. The district also includes one precinct in Bleckley County, 16 in Dodge, 7 in Johnson, 20 in Laurens, three in Pulaski, six in Tefair and six in Wilcox. District 18 State Senator Cecil Staton, R-Macon, had 13,513 votes in Houston County over 14 districts and absentee votes. Staton had 98.82 percent of the votes in Houston as there were also 161 write-in votes. Absentee votes were the single largest source of votes for Staton with 2,895. He next high est total was 1,953 votes at Feagin Mill Middle School. The lowest precinct for Staton was Crossroads Center where he had only 190 votes from the 738 reg istered voters.
