♦ FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 24, 2006 2A RFCU sponsors volunteer week Special to the Journal Robins Federal sponsored a volunteer week at the Ronald McDonald House in Macon Oct. 16-19 in con junction with the 365 Days of Caring Program. During that time, they had more than 68 employee volunteers to help around the house with the following activities: Cleaning, dusting, organizing, painting/paint ing touchups in hallways and the conference room, paint ing - second coat/painting touchups/plavground plant ing and playground clean up. Since opening, the Ronald McDonald House of Central Georgia has welcomed more than 1,100 families who have come to Macon to find help for their seriously ill or critically injured children who are patients in local hospitals. The Ronald McDonald House is a special haven, pro viding a calm place to sleep, shower, launder clothes and unwind. Even more importantly, it is a place where anguished families can find refuge encouragement and suste nance. Through direct financial support or other in-kind con tributions to local organiza tions, and by participating in public service activities, Robins Federal is an active partner in our community. We recognize that practicing good Citizenship supports the Credit Union Philosophy of “People Helping People.” Further-more, it helps to raise the overall level of social and economic well being of those in our com munity, help to strengthen community ties, and better position us to serve those people in greatest need of affordable financial services.
