Efforts under way to recover films Efforts are under way to gather Ralph Tabor’s films of first grade classes in Perry These will be converted onto DVDs for preser vation. Missing films are of the classes that graduated in 1959, 1961, 1962, 1965, 1969, 1971, 1980, 1981 and 1982. Perry author to be at book signing Ellie Loudermilk, author of A Ramble Through Olde Perry, will be at Two Friends on Carroll Street in downtown Perry from 10-11 a.m.. Saturday. She will autograph copies of her book, which tells the history of Perry in the 19th century. Johnson, according to the report, admit ted to the incident. Events sur rounding the arrest are as follows. On Nov. 22, several items - one of them being a 1996 Toyota Camry - were reported as being taken from the Watson Blvd. establishment. That, the investigation, led to warrants being signed against Johnson, 28, for bur glary, theft by taking-motor vehicle, theft by receiving stolen property and theft by taking. Johnson’s admission, according to the report, gave detectives information leading to the recovery of the vehicle, as well as other property taken during the burglary. He is presently being held in the Houston County jail for these charges, along with charges brought by the Houston County Sheriffs Office. Anyone with information regarding these incidents is asked to contact Det. Hospitals add $292 million +to economy From staff reports Houston Medical Center and Perry Hospital gener ated more than $292.1 mil lion in revenue during 2004 for the local economy. According to a recent report by the Georgia Hospital Association, Houston Healthcare had direct expenditures of more than $118.6 million in 2004. When combined with an eco nomic multiplier developed by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Economic Analysis, the total economic impact of those expenditures was more than $292.1 million. This output multiplier considers the “ripple” effect of direct hospital expendi tures on other sectors of the economy, such as medical supplies, durable medical equipment and pharmaceu ticals.
