♦ SATURDAY, DECEMBER 2, 2006 2A Obituaries CRAPY MOBLEY Grady Mobley passed away Sunday at Appling Healthcare in Baxley after a short illness. Survivors include: Daughter and son-in-law, Julia Nell and Wally Shaw of Perry; son, William Johnson “Jay” Mobley of Baxley; brother-in-law Ranville J. Fossett of Alma; grandchildren, Catheryn Shaw, Claire Shaw and Jim Shaw of Perry. Swain Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements. RALPH K. MCVEY WARNER ROBINS - Ralph K. McVey, 76, passed away Thursday. Services will be held at noon today in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Go to www.mcculloughfh.com to sign the Online Registry for the family. McCullough Funeral Home has charge of arrangements. NATHANIEL DALTON PERRY - Nathaniel Dalton died Nov. 24. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Marthann Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Rest Haven Cemetery. He was the son of the late William and Alice Lee Dalton. Survivors include his wife, four children, two brothers, three sisters and six grandchildren. Community Events ■EXHIBITION- Middle Georgia College’s Peacock Gallery will be hosting an exhibition by artist Bridget Conn. The exhibit, enti tled “Memory Womb,” will remain in the gallery until Jan. 18, 2007. ■ HORSE SHOW- The Just For Pleasure Horse Show will be held today- Sunday at the Georgia National Fairgrounds. The show will include quarter horses, appaloosas, paint horses and an all breed horse show. The show will pay out over $400,000 in money and awards. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday at the Perry First Baptist Church with Dr. Gene Bowman and Rev. Bob Price off ciating. Rev. Rick Parker will officiate at Evergreen Cemetery and the Navy will provide Full Military Honors. The family will receive friends at the resi dence, 1100 Ridge Circle South, Perry. Mr. Dorsett was horn on November 19, 1939 in Byron, Georgia, the son of the late Marvin and Maggie Ruth Dorsett. He was preceded in death by his son, Ralph Anthony (Rad) Dorsett, Jr., and his brother, Kemp Dorsett. A member of the Perry Frist Baptist Church, he was in the Buice Sunday School Class. CDR Dorsett served as an anti submarine warfare plane commander with VP-44 while on active duty in the United States Navy. He continued to serve his country for 17 addi tional years in the Navy Reserves with Patrol Squadron 62, 800 Watson Blvd. A prelimi nary meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. in the upstairs conference room. ■ YARD SALE - Houston County YMCA will hold a yard sale Friday. Gymnastics equipment and other office items will be available for sell. Donations will be accepted and people to help set up the event are needed. Now, OB patients at The Women’s Center have a resource to guide them through their pregnancy and the first year of their baby’s life - the Houston Healthcare’s Parent Review, a weekly par enting e-mail. This free service offers expectant and new parents customized information, news, and resources from the parent education staff. The e-mail service also pro vides brief reviews of the latest research on pregnancy and newborn issues in an easy-to-understand format. Messages are personalized to the patient’s due date and continue for the first year of their baby’s life. He began farming with his father in 1976, land that has been in his family since 1856. He served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the E. H. Cheek Scholarship Fund, on the Board of Directors of Houston County Farm Bureau, Board of Directors of the Perry-Houston County Airport Authority, Board of Trust for the Westfield Schools, member of the Houston County Young Farmers and Agribusinessmen’s Assocation and member of the Order of the Daedalians. Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Joan Roper Dorsett; sister, Sally D. Bazemore (Ken) of Byron; brother, Jimmy Dorsett (Brenda) of Norcross; sister-in-law, Nancy Dorsett Wadsworth (Ray) of Arley, Alabama; nine nieces and nephews.
