Sonny Perdue announced several staff changes Monday, including a new press secre tary and a new legislative affairs director. Bert Brantley, who served as the communications man ager for the state Department of Economic Development, will become the governor’s new press secretary. He replaces Heather Hedrick Teilhet, who stepped down on Dec. 1 to join a health care policy think tank. Perdue also appointed Shane Hix his new director of external affairs and Chad Holland the new director of legislative affairs. Hix had been Perdue’s deputy press secretary since January 2003 while Holland served as the deputy political director for the governor’s re-election campaign. Visitation will be Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Andersonville National Cemetery. Father Fred Nijem will officiate. Memorials may be given to Sacred Heart Church Building Fund Memorial, 250 South Davis Drive, Warner Robins GA 31088. McGregor was born Oct. 4, 1932 in Lake Village, Ark. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was retired from the United States Air Force, from G. Heileman Brewery, and from Boeing. He was also a member of Waterford Golf Club. His parents, Jessie Arlie and Jessie Amelia McGregor, and brother, William McGregor preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Mae McGregor of Warner Robins; two sons, Richard McGregor of Warner Robins and Tim McGregor (Rebecca) of Centerville; two sisters, Angie Lopez (Eddie) and Lucy Bolston, both of California; brother, Grant McGregor (Bunny) of California; and a grandson, Reed McGregor. MARTHA COOPER SCARBROUGH Martha Cooper Scarbrough, 71, of Marietta, died Dec. 5. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. today at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home Chapel in Marietta with Rev’s Sam Storey Sr., and Tom Davis officiating. Born in Perry, Scarbrough married her husband in 1955. She came to Cobb County in 1959. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Marietta since 1960 and a member of Woodbine Garden Club. She is survived by her husband, D. Ellis Scarbrough of Marietta; one daughter, Linda Hayes and husband, Gary, of Fayetteville; two * — J r - • • ” sons, Wayne Scarbrough and wife, Kim, Clint Scarbrough and wife, Larisa, both of Powder Springs; one sister, Joanne Davis of Marietta; five grandchildren, Zachary Hayes, Heather Hayes, Kailey Scarbrough, Cooper Scarbrough, Parker Scarbrough; several nieces and nephews.
