The schools will open during August 2007, and the approved zones would take affect for the 2007- 2008 school year. Poach and Pulaski counties Talton, Staton get jump on new year Both file early legislation By RATLIGHTNER Journal Staff Writer The Georgia General Assembly starts Jan. 9, 2007 but two of the coun ty’s local legislators already have hills in the hopper. The 40-day session is scheduled to end March 30, but State House Representative Willie Talton, R-Warner Robins, and District 18 State Senator Cecil Staton, R- Macon have already pre filed legislation for the upcoming session. Talton has co-sponsored House Bill 21, which would make English the official language for state docu ments and forms.
