Centerville Elementary School Wednesday The Centerville Elementary chorus, dance team and jump rope team will perform a Christmas Holiday Events Today 10 a.m. - Perry High Students read to children at the Perry Library. For more information, contact the library at 987-3050. 8:30-10:30 a.m. - Photos and Breakfast with Santa at The Swanson, with Forever Young Photography. 4-10 p.m. - “Walk through Bethlehem” at Shirley Hills Baptist Church. A re-enact ment in costume, with live animals, of life in the village of Bethlehem at the time of Jesus’ birth. This event attracts thousands each year. Local graduates basic training Special to the Journal Air Force Airman Anthony (' Wellborn has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. During the six weeks of training, Wellborn studied the Air Force mission, orga niz ati on, and military court Of : performed 'rfp| drill and ceremony and received f physical 7 -• train in g, WELLBORN rifle marks man s h i p , field training exercises, and special training in human relations. In addition, those who complete basic training earn credits toward an asso ciate degree through the Community College of the Air Force. He is the son of Carol Wellborn of Davis Ave., Perry. Wellborn is a 2005 graduate of Perry High School. Gibby graduates basic training Special to the Journal Army Pvt. Bobby S. Gibby has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. During the nine weeks of training, Gibby studied the Army mission, history, tradi tion and core values, physi cal fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, mili tary courtesy, military jus tice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field train ing exercises. He is the son of Terri Gibby of Madison Drive, Bonaire. Gibby is a 2005 graduate of the Houston County Career and Technology- Center, Warner Robins. Wednesday At 9 a.m. and 9:45 a.m., the chorus and strings will perform the Parkwood Christmas Musical for stu dents in the cafeteria. Russell Elementary School Northside Middle School Kings Chapel Road. Perry, will present, “Jesus, There’s Something About that Name.” The musi cal is arranged by Russell Mauldin. The choir will be under the direction of Jenny Ledger, Minister of Music and Student. Norman Gay is the narrator. A nursery will be provided and visitors are welcome.
