Feds probe grant money use
MACON (AP) - Federal
investigators have served
the city’s finance office and
police department with sub
poenas, seeking information
in an inquiry into the city’s
use of federal grants.
The subpoenas command
the city to turn over finan
cial data as part of a Justice
Department probe into
“allegations of misconduct,”
according to documents
released to The Telegraph
under the state Open
Records Act.
No one has been indicted
as a result of the inquiry,

ART “SKI” PIQTBQWSKI ____
WARNER ROBINS - Art “Ski” Piotrowski, 69, passed
away Friday.
He was a retired Senior Master Sergeant from the United
States Air Force and was a Vietnam veteran. Survivors
include his wife Fran Piotrowski; daughters, Betty, Josie
and Debbie Cleator; son, Eddie; 12 grandchildren and 15
great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 1 p.m., today
in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home.
PERRY - Cornelia T. Cranford, age 93, passed away
Wednesday. Funeral Mass was celebrated Monday at Saint
Patrick Catholic Church. Interment fol
lowed at Riverside Cemetery. Father Kirk
Mansell officiated. A rosary was said Sunday
in the chapel of Watson - Hunt Funeral
Home. Cranford, a native of Syracuse, N.Y.
was the oldest of nine children of the late
John F. and Cornelia (Beuchat) Ginnan.
She was a retired secretary from Robins Air
Force Base, charter member of Holy Spirit
Catholic Church and a member of Saint
Patrick Catholic Church. Survivors include
her two sons, Edward M. Cranford Jr. of
Macon and W.F. (Bud) Cranford of Kathleen,
one step-daughter, Evelyn McGee of Port Lucie, Fla., three
sisters; Ann McGrath, Mabelle Badgley and Virginia Dooling
all of Syracuse, New York; nine grandchildren and 27 great
grandchildren.
The family may be contacted at 108 Leisure Lane,
Kathleen.
THERESA IRENE ELLIS MORRISON
WARNER ROBINS - Morrison was born in Yakima
County, Wash.
Ington. She was preceded in death by husbands Roy W.
Ellis and Larry W. Morrison; parents, Thomas A. and Lillian
Sedge McNamara; several siblings; two grandchildren; and
one great-granddaughter.
Survivors include five children, six step-children, 29
grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and four second great
grandchildren.
WANDA THURMAN KENNEDY
PERRY - Wanda Kennedy, 67, passed away Friday. Her
parents, James William and Emma Nadine Thurman, and
brother, Billy Thurman, preceded her in death. Survivors
include her daughter, Kimberly; sisters, Carol, Wynell,
Twana, Patty and Debbie; brothers, Jimmy and Frank;
sister-in-law, JoAnn Thurman; several nieces and nephews,
six great-nieces and great-nephews and one great-great
nephew.
