Parkwood Elementary School’s students, parents and staff, pictured, took
part in a hands-on science night recently. The event, according to a release,
enabled everyone to make predictions, conduct their own scientific experi
ments and share in the “sheer joy of discovering new information in the var
ious fields of science. A great time was had by all, especially the adults!”
Also, family members joined students the day before Thanksgiving break for a
Thanksgiving meal. Joining the students and guests, were plenty of plump tur
keys, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and many more fine trimmings. The cafeteria was
decorated in the autumn colors and place settings created by Parkwood students.
In addition, fourth graders concluded their studies of Native American tribes by shar
ing their information with fellow students. Groups of students focused on individual
tribes, making models of villages and homes, cooking native foods, design artwork and
gathering biographical information of famous chiefs. Some dressed in Native American
costumes.
