Contributed The Lindsey Elementary Jet Citizens for the week of Nov. 27-Dec. 1 were chosen for being great examples of the character trait of the week, “virtue.” They are: First row, Tynia Jones, Jesus Lopez, Javararee Smith, Emma Garcia, Dylan Clay and NaKiya Martin. Second row, Talicia Arnica, Market Stokeling, Sabrina Preskit, and Malik Anderson. Third, Lakeisha Johnson, Shalyric Alford, Horatio Drake, Issac Knox and Jacelyn Mimbs. PERMITS From page iA one additional permit or 12.5 percent increase from eight in October to nine in November. Centerville’s nine permits is also up from only five in November 2005 In the unincorporated areas there were five more or a 16.265 percent more permits issued in November with 37 than the 32 in October. The 37 are how ever down from the 41 per mits issued in November 2005. While there were fewer homes, the overall county wide average value of the homes permitted in November at $140,054.80 was up from October’s average of $126,139.26. The High flyers Citizens of the week average value of the home permitted was also up in Warner Robins and in the unincorporated areas, but down in Centerville and Perry. Centerville continues to have the highest .average value for homes permitted of the four entities with November’s average being $194,452.22, down from $223,921.25 in October. Warner Robins again had the lowest average for new .permitted dwellings at $107,771.51 in November, up from $106,418.95 in October. In the unincorporated areas, the average went up from $152,950 in October to $173,855.40 in November. In Perry the average dropped from $128,462.08 in October to $114,910.71 in November. Holiday entertainment The number of permits for manufactured homes is up for November county wide at 17. There were five issued in October. Warner Robins led the way in November with nine, followed by four each in Centerville and in the unincorporated areas and none in Perry. In October there were four in Warner Robins, one in Perry and none in Centerville and unincorpo rated areas. There was no apartment permits issued countywide in November. In October there were 300 issued, all in Perry. FBLA collects cans for food drive Special to the Journal The annual Feed-A- Family food drive sponsored by the Business Education Program at Perry High School resulted in more than 1,000 food items being collected recently. Perry High School s Future Business Leaders of America mem bers and Business stu dents brought in canned goods for the drive. Students brought in cans along with monetary dona tions from Nov. 1-16. The Great Deals Free Al 3 for items under SSO Call 987-1823 for details HOUSTON DAILY JOURNAL First Baptist Church, Perry entertained library patrons at a special musi cal. The group made a big hit with some really small guests. The audience was also encouraged to participate in singing. This was the second per formance for the ensemble, who had assisted the choral groups of First Baptist, Grace Baptist and Rehobath Baptist church. Ensemble members are Marilyn Hooten, Brenda Bullard and David Loudermiik. Journal Nancy Ifawk business students use the annual event as part of a community service project through FBLA, a nationally recognized student organi zation. The FBLA members/busi ness students gathered the food and cash each day from the different classes and then sorted and boxed the items for 14 families. Feed- A-Family boxes full of food items were delivered before Thanksgiving and mon etary donations were given to two families to purchase Thanksgiving Turkeys.
