Bingo and the law
According to state law there are three legal types of
gambling in Georgia: Bingo, raffles and the Georgia
State Lottery.
Regulation for this type of gaming was first legislated
in 1976, since then amendments have been inserted to
help guide the operations. So strict are these guidelines
that even volunteers and directors of Bingo must submit
to fingerprints, photographing and background checks
completed before they can volunteer to work. This is
because workers are bonded so they can work with the
money that comes through the game. Georgia’s govern
ing of the games is considered strictest in 50 states.
