Brian Buford
School: Warner Robins
Year: Senior
Position: Linebacker
Impact: He recorded 149
tackles. He had 14 for loss,
one sack, one tipped pass,
five pass break-ups and two
fumble recoveries.
“(He has a) great motor,”
Way said. “(He) makes plays
from sideline to sideline.”
Other: He was the
Region 1-AAAAA Defensive
Player of the Year and was
selected to the All-Middle
Georgia First Team. He
was a team captain, three
year starter and leader on
the team in tackles for the
past three years. He was
also the team’s Player of
the Week for the Lowndes
and Peachtree Ridge games.
He was also selected to
play in the Georgia Athletic
Coach’s Association All-Star
game.
Roderick Rose
School: Warner Robins
Year: Senior
Position: Linebacker
Impact: He recorded 100
tackles. He had 13 tack
les for loss, one sack, two
tipped passes, one intercep
tion and one fumble recov
ery.
“(He) loves to practice
and play the game,” said
Way. “(He) played on every
special team. (He) also
played blocking back on
goal-line offense.”
Other: He was named to
the Region 1-AAAAA First
Team. Was a three-year
starter and was the team’s
Player of the Week for the
Norcross and Northside
games.

School: Warner Robins
Year: Senior
Position: Cornerback
Impact: He recorded 82
tackles. He had four pass
break-ups, one tipped pass,
three interceptions, one
fumble recovery and one
touchdown.
“(This was his) first year
as (a) starter in (the) sec
ondary after being injured
most of the previous two
years,” Way said. “(He)
improved greatly through
out the year. (He was the)
best open field tackier on
the team.”
Other: He was the team’s
Player of the Week for the
Tift County and Mundy’s
Mill games.
Laron Scott
School: Warner Robins
Year: Senior
Position: Cornerback
Impact: He recorded 68
tackles. He had one tackle
for loss, one sack, 13 pass
break-ups, three intercep
tions, one fumble recovery,
one blocked kick and three
touchdowns.
“(He’s an) excellent
athlete who contributed
many ways to the team,”
said Way. “(He) covered
the opposing team’s best
receiver.”
On special teams, he
returned 20 kicks for 524
yards - a 26-yard average
- and two touchdowns. He
had a 92-yard kickoff return
against Lowndes that Way
said was the key play in the
game.
Other: He was named
to the Region 1-AAAAA
Second Team. He was the
team’s Defensive Player of
the Week for the Colquitt
County game, the Special
Teams Player of the Week
for the Central Gwinnett
and Lowndes games.
Xavier Jackson
School: Warner Robins
Year: Senior
Position: Free safety
Impact: He recorded 77
tackles. He had seven pass
break-ups, one tipped pass
and two interceptions.
“(He is a) good all-around
athlete,” Way said. “(He)
played every position in
the secondary as well as
receiver and quarterback.
(He is a) very intelligent
player, who did a good job
of getting us in the right
coverages.
“(He) played on all special
teams. (He also) averaged
10 yards per punt return.
Other: He was the team’s
Player of the Week for the
Coffee County game.
Dexter Holman
School: Houston County
Year: Senior
Position: Defensive end
Impact: He recorded 78
tackles, 51 solo and 21 via
assist. He also had three
blocked passes, four sacks,
two fumble recoveries,
forced two fumbles and had
16 tackles for loss.
Other: He was named
to the Region 1 - AAAAA
Second Team. He was also a
two-year starter.
Coach’s corner: “Dexter
turned in a great season
from his DE position. He
is (a) strong, physical and
quick player that is ver
satile along the defensive
front. He was allowed to
play several different looks
because of his size and
speed.”
Roddy Nixon
School: Houston County
Year: Senior
Position: Defensive end
Impact: He recorded 70
tackles. He also had four
blocked passes, four sacks,
12 tackles for loss, two
caused fumbles and three
fumble recoveries - one
returned for a touchdown.
He also “excelled” on all
special teams, Johnson said,
with 10 blocked kicks in the
past two years. “(He had)
12 tackles on the kickoff
team alone and has two
special team touchdowns,”
Johnson said. “He has
worked very hard to utilize
his assets ‘speed’ to play a
very physical position. He
is also the ultimate team
player and plays on all spe
cial teams.”
Other: He is a three-year
starter.
Princeton Dean
School: Houston County
Year: Senior
Position: Defensive line
man
Impact: He recorded 61
tackles, 48 solo and 13 via
assist. He also broke up
three passes, forced three
fumbles, recovered one, had
six sacks and 20 tackles for
loss.

“Princeton led the team in
sacks and tackles for loss.
He has tremendous speed
off the ball and could play
several positions along the
defensive front.”
Isaac Wilson

Year: Senior
Position: Linebacker
Impact: He recorded
105 tackles (second on the
team).
Other: He was an
Honorable Mention for the
All-Middle Georgia Team.
He was the team’s Ironman
runner-up.
Mitchell Bell

Impact: He recorded 60

Other: He was named to
the All-Middle Georgia First

“(He is the) leader of the
defense,” said Scott, “makes
all the checks and is a great
leader.”
Ryan Campbell
School: Westfield
Year: Senior
Position: Inside line
backer/offensive guard
Impact: He recorded
109 tackles, 85 solo and
24 via assist. He was also
the team’s best offensive
lineman, said head coach
Ronnie Jones. “(He was)
very important in our
offense,” Jones said. “(He)
graded high all season.”
Added Jones: “We try and
find our best offensive line
man and put him at guard.
On defense, Ryan saved us
a lot of times. Ryan was
one of the leading tacklers
in GISA during the regular
season.”
Other: He was named to
the GISA All-State and All-
Region teams, was a team
captain and named to play
on the GISA All-Star team.

Impact: He recorded 66
tackles. He had 12 tackles
for loss, five sacks, seven

“He made numerous
big plays at key times
throughout the season,”
said Way.
Other: He was named to
the Region 1-AAAAA First
Team and was selected
to the All-Middle Georgia
First Team. In addition, he
was the team’s Player of
the Week for the Parkview
game.
Anthony Harris
School: Houston County
Year: Senior
Position: Linebacker
Impact: He recorded
71 tackles, 45 solo and 26
via assist. He also had one
fumble recovery, forced one
fumble and had six tackles
for loss.
Coach’s corner:
“Anthony did a great job
adjusting from offense to
defense this season. He
really matured as a football
player and did a great job
leading this group of young
men this season.”
Chris Prewett
School: Houston County
Year: Junior
Position: Linebacker
Impact: Recorded 87
tackles, 53 solo and 34 via
assist. He also had two
interceptions, one pass
break-up, two fumble
recoveries and one tackle
for loss.

really came on strong down
the stretch. He has turned
into a solid linebacker for
our team and we expect big

Josh Nelson

Impact: He recorded 51
tackles, 31 solo and 20 via
assist. He also intercepted
two passes, broke up 11
passes, forced three fumbles
and recovered one.
Coach’s comer: “Josh
was a move-in from our bas
ketball program and really
came on to be a leader on
the defense. He has quick
feet and great hands. He
had a tremendous game
against Newnan in the play
offs to help keep this team
in the playoffs.”
