third-down catches from the
tight end position to keep
drives alive.
He was a leader, not only
with his play on the filed,
but off the field as well.
He made the catch of the
year against Warner Robins
on the last play of the game,
which gave us a chance to
tie.”

the Offensive Lineman of
the Week 13 times during
the 2006 season.
He was named to the
Region 1-AAAAA First
Team, the All-Middle
Georgia First Team and the
All-State team.
He was also selected to
play in the Georgia Athletic
Coach’s Association All-Star
game.

three-year starter and in
two of those three years we
made it to the Elite Eight in
the state playoffs.

Martez King

Position: Running back,
quarterback, defensive back
Impact: He was 14-21
passing for 227 yards and
two touchdowns. He also
had 81 rushes for 579 yards
and a touchdown. He aver
aged 7.1 yards per carry
and 57.9 per game.
He also returned four
kicks for 83 yards - the
longest being 20 yards, and
returned two punts for 35
yards - the longest of those
being 30 yards.
On the defensive side of
the ball, he had 13 tack
les, nine solo and four via
assist. He also had one
interception and broke up
two passes.

Position: Quarterback
Impact: He was 116-178
passing for 1,823 yards
and 27 touchdowns. He
averaged 10.2 yards per
attempt, 121.5 per game
and had a quarterback rat
ing of 95.6. He also had 109
rushes for 545 yards and
four touchdowns.
Other: He was the AAAA
All State Offensive Player
of the Year and selected to
the All-Middle Georgia First
Team.
Tijuan Green
School: Northside
Year: Junior
Position: Running back
Impact: He had 178
rushes for 1,374 yards and
19 touchdowns.
Other: He was named
to the All-State Third
Team and was an All-
Middle Georgia Honorable
Mention.
Jacobi Rodriguez
School: Northside
Year: Senior
Impact: He caught 43
passes for 781 yards and
eight touchdowns. He aver
aged 18.2 yards per catch
and 52.1 yards per game.
He also had four rushes for
10 yards and a touchdown.
Other: He was named
to the All-State First and
All-Middle Georgia teams.
He was also selected to
play in the Georgia Athletic

Nick Bass

Position: Wide receiver
Impact: He caught 37
passes for 482 yards and 12
touchdowns. He averaged
13.4 yards per catch and
34.9 per game.
He also returned five
kicks for 92 yards, an 18.4
yard average, and returned
30 punts for 336 yards, an
11.2 yard average.

Antwan Hamilton

key part of our offense who

the middle of our offensive

we needed tough yardage
we went behind him.
“We only had two missed
snaps to the QB with
Reggie in three years. He
operated with three differ
ent QBs in those years. He
was a leader on and off the
field and will be missed.”

eight interceptions. He also

“(He was) leader of the

ball coach Andy Scott. “(He)
has great athletic ability
and (is) able to make big
plays every time he touches
the ball.”

touchdowns. He also had

tions for 370 yards and five
touchdowns. “He is a very
versatile player, Scott said.
“(He is a) solid blocker and
sure-handed receiver who
was a playmaker. ”
Zach Young
School: Westfield
Year: Senior
Position: Running back/
defensive back
Impact: He rushed for
892 yards and had 10 touch
downs. “Zach gained all of
his yards in about seven
games,” said Westfield head
football coach Ronnie Jones.
“He got a high ankle sprain
in the third quarter of our
opening game. High ankle
sprains are hard to heal.
He was never 100 percent
the rest of the season.” On
defense, he had 42 tackles,
27 solo and 15 via an assist.
He also had one intercep
tion.
Other: He was named to
the GISA All-Region team.
Was selected to play on the
GISA All-Star team. He was
also a team captain.
