Upward soccer
registration under way
Registration is now being
taken at Second Baptist Church
(the church office) for Upward
Soccer. It is open to girls and
boys kindergarten (must have
turned 4 by Sept. 1, 2006)
through sixth grade. The early
registration cost per child is
$75.
After Feb. 26, the cost will
increase to SBS. Parents may
drop off their form and registra
tion fee between 8 a.m. and
5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Practices begin April 16, with
the first game slated for May 5.
Warner Robins rec holds
track, field signups
The Warner Robins Recreation
Department has begun registra
tion for the 2007 track and field
program and will continue until
the league is full. This program
is limited to the first 100 partici
pants.
Registration will be taken at
the recreation department locat
ed at 800 Watson Boulevard, on
Monday - Friday between the
hours of 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. This
program is for boys and girls
ages 7-14 year's old. The age
control date is Dec. 31. 2007. A
birth certificate is required upon
registration unless it is already
on file.
Fees are as follows: City resi
dents - $25, county residents
- SSO. out of county SBS.

CGSA prepares for
spring session
The Central Georgia Soccer
Association has begun registra
tion for its spring 2007 session.

In addition, those interested
can come by and register during
their normal office hours Monday

Westfield association to
hold basketball games
The Westfield, Beechwood,
Baker Alumni Association is
sponsoring its annual alumni
basketball games to be held Feb.
10 in the Westfield Gymnasium.
The girls' game will begin at 5:30
p.m. and the guys' game will fol
low immediately. The entry fee
this year is sls.
The proceeds will benefit the
Perry Animal Shelter. Alumni
interested in playing should

Warner Robins rec to hold
softball registration
The Warner Robins Recreation
Department will hold team
registration for it’s 2007 Adult
Softball Program Feb. 26-28.
Divisions will include Men’s and
Ladies Open, Men’s and Ladies
Church, Men’s and Ladies
Industrial, Boys Church and
Coed. The entry fee is $464 for
a 16-game season. Registration
will be taken between the hours
of 8 a.m.-5 p.m. in the Athletic
Office located at 800 Watson
Blvd.

to 1996. After a four-year

Jacksonville until the 2005
season, when he signed with
the Miami Dolphins.
In 2006, Thomas played
his first season with the
Buffalo Bills, appearing in
all 16 games and making 46
total tackles.
Thomas spoke to the
Houston Daily Journal
via telephone from Miami,
where he was taking part in
Super Bowl activities.
“It’s a lot different,” he
said, comparing his time at
Perry High to now, “The
coaches are different. We
were a small school just try
ing to find ways to win.”
“Ever since I took the job
(in 2005), I have tried to
develop a good relationship
with Kiwaukee Thomas,”
said Scott. “We named one of
our spring awards after him,
and he’s addressed the team
when he’s been in town. I

the Georgia High School Association allowed schools to begin practice as a team. The first official day the
GHSA allows an “official” contest is Feb. 12. Jamborees do not fall under that definition. To that end, Perry
will host a jamboree today from 9 a.m. to approximately 5 p.m. Houston County, Warner Robins and Mary
Persons, and of course the Panthers and Lady Panthers, are on the list to compete.

mony began on Thursday,
with a special video
highlighting the 2006
Demons season with a
few Tinseltown themes.
Way, the Warner Robins
High football coach, his

on to honor all of the
football players from the
team that compiled a 9-
5 record. Warner Robins
actually had a 6-4 regular
season, but caught fire in
the playoffs to advance
