Competitors go head-to-head at the
Georgia National Fairgrounds and
Agricenter and during the Georgia
Independent School Association
state tournament held this past
weekend. Westfield played host
to the event. The Hornets, in AAA,
finished 11th as a team - Riverside
was first, Windsor second and Trinity
Christian third. Individually, Westfield
did have a state champion in Jared
Parnell at 103 pounds. Overall, he
improved his record to 28-0. He
was also named Most Outstanding
Wrestler of the tournament.
Teammates Halston Kirkpatrick
at 145 pounds was fourth and Nic
McGehee (at right) at 125 was sixth.

had the overall win at 47-30.
Houston County’s Chris Millner
(140), Cline Whitley (130) and Daniel
Browder (145) all had 3-0 individual

145. Chas Malcom followed with a pin
at 152, and the Demon lead was down to

And in the last match of all, 171
pounds, it looked like the points would
stay even. Warner Robins’ Chris Monos
put on a fully of moves in the last sec
onds to win it 15-12.
