Police: Robberies may be related

Warner Robins Police are investigat
ing two Wednesday night robberies.
“We can’t say they are related,”
said Det. Shane Mann of the Warner
Robins Police Department-Criminal
Investigations Division, “but we are
investigating the possibility it was the
same suspects.”
The incidents took place about four
minutes apart and the suspects had
similar descriptions. There were no
injuries reported in either incident
At 10:22 p.m., officers responded
to Andy’s Food Mart at 1101 North

attempted armed robbery and aggra
vated assault. Witnesses on scene told
police an unknown suspect wearing
dark clothing came to the front doors
and tried to open them.
When told the store was closed,
the suspect produced a handgun and
fired a shot through the front door
of the business. The suspect then
fled the scene on foot. The suspect
was described as 5-foot-7 to 5-foot9 in
height and weighing about 135-150
pounds with slender build. He was
wearing a dark colored hooded jacket

is investing a Thursday
night car-versus-pedestrians
accident that left one dead
and the other injured and in
the care of the staff at the
Medical Center of Central
Georgia.
According to a release,
about 7:39 p.m., police
were dispatched to Watson
Boulevard and Pleasant

Traffic stop
leads to
drug bust

Failing to use a turn signal
got the driver and his pas
senger charged with drug
dealing Thursday.
According to a release, at
approximately 12:16 p.m.,
that day Houston County
Sheriffs Office Deputy Slate
Simons pulled over a south
bound 1997 Mercury Grand
Marquis for a traffic viola
tion near mile marker 135
on Interstate 75 near Perry.
While talking with the
driver and passenger, Simons
and Deputy Clay Chambers
noticed the strong odor of
raw marijuana coming from
the vehicle.
The deputies asked for
and received permission to
search the car, which the
search revealed did not
belong to either the driver
or passenger.
The consensual search also
reportedly turned up the
source of the odor about
four pounds of marijuana
- in the trunk.
According to the sheriffs
office, the estimated street
value of the marijuana is
about $9,600.
The driver, Thomas
Pickens, 24, and the pas
senger, Charles Love Jr., 23,
