By NANCY HAWK

The Georgia Independent
School Association’s
Regional Debates were held
at Mercer University in early
January with Westfield’s
four-inember team taking
first place. Not only that,
but they won four out of
the five individual speaker
awards up for grabs.
The team consists of one
senior and three juniors.
All the students saw the
debate team as a challenge.
First year team member,
Jacob Parnell saw it, “as a
chance to challenge people,
through discussion, sort of
beating people with your
mind,” he said.
Both Christopher
