others about all the great

Said Duffey: “From the
dedicated teachers to
the awesome students,
Northside Middle School is
a wonderful place to learn,
grow, and gain the skills that
will allow us to transition to
high school.
“I come from a long line
of family members that
attended NMS and I plan on
continuing their tradition of
pride. By representing NMS
in a positive and enthusias

this tradition continues.
“I want to show people
that if you work hard in
school, are responsible, lis

At 10:26 p.m., officers
responded to an armed rob

Store at 700 Dunbar Road.
Officers met with the store
clerk, Dave Patel, who said
he had started closing out
the day’s business around
10:20 p.m. when two sus
pects came inside the store.
One suspect produced a
handgun and demanded
money. Patel opened the reg

able to get an undisclosed
amount of money. Both sus

Suspect 1 is 6 feet tall, 180-

were a total of 26 “amazing
young ladies” that competed
for the title.
The contestants were

where they could showcase
their talents.
Alyssa Gordon, an eighth
grader, won the talent com
petition with her “outstand
ing” rendition of “You Can’t
Get a Man with a Gun.”
Per the release: “The girls
were amazing throughout
the pageant and their talent
competition was remark
able. Each young lady
experienced their first inter
views, learned how to model
and overcome their fears
of answering impromptu
questions, and performing
in front of a large group.
These skills will help them
throughout their lives and
enhance their self-confi

“Kim Abston did an out
