Warner Robins Area Chamber of Commerce sent the 2007 Leadership Class to the Capitol Feb. 13 for a look at how
state government works. According to a release, the group of 17 spent time in the Senate Gallery to watch the legisla
tors in session and later got a better view when they visited the Senate floor. The group had an opportunity to meet
Gov. Sonny Perdue, followed by a question and answer session with Representatives Larry O’Neal and Willie Talton,
and Sen. Ross Tolleson - getting a glimpse of life in politics. After lunch with the senator, the group had a tour of the
Capitol. The Leadership Warner Robins class is: Gary Cox, Amy Day, Nathaniel Demere, Brian Fern, Tommi Gill, David

Question: Does someone
just starting out really need
renters insurance?
Answer: Recently we
heard about a young con
sumer who suffered a total
loss of his belongings in
an apartment building fire.
The flames were so high
that firefighters couldn’t
get near the building.
His insurer had a check
in his hand within a week
for the entire claim, and
they picked up all his living
expenses for 30 days. The
other tenants who didn’t
have renters insurance are
forced to start over with
practically nothing.
Renters insurance gener
ally has a fairly low pre
mium for the protection it
offers, though many young
people may think that since
they don’t own much, the
coverage is something they
don’t need. While that may
be true for those who truly
have few possessions, con
sider renters coverage if
you have a lot of furni
ture, electronic equipment,
jewelry or collectibles. Add
up the estimated value of
Museum of Aviation hosting
annual young astronauts’ day

The Museum of Aviation
Education Department will
host the Annual Georgia
Young Astronauts’ Day
March 24, from 8:30 a.m.-
3 p.m.
This yearly event for
third-eighth grade stu
dents will take place at the
Museum of Aviation Flight
and Technology Center
located in Warner Robins.
The opening ceremony
will be held in the Century
of Flight Hanger, and
workshops will take place
immediately following
the ceremony in various
locations throughout the
museum. Former NASA
Astronaut, retired Air Force
Col. Mark Brown, will be
the keynote speaker for the
YAD opening ceremony.
Young Astronauts Day,
according to a release, is a
fun-filled day of hands-on
workshops that focus on
math, science and technol
ogy. The workshops offered
range from robotics and
flight school, to aviation
art.
There is even an oppor
tunity to examine moon
rocks brought back from
an actual NASA space mis
sion. Students will choose
two grade specific workshop
tracks to participate in
with each participant being
assigned one track. Each
track consists of four work
shops.
Pre-registration is
required, and participants
may register as a group or
individually.
The cost is $25 per par

In conjunction with Young
Astronauts Day, the inte
rior of the B-l Bomber will
be open to the public and

Also, the new Mission
Quest Transporter will be
open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.,
with each ride costing $5
per person.
