Houston ambulances help out in Americus

Houston Healthcare sent
two ambulances as part
of the local assistance to
Americus this past week.
Two went as part of the 53-
member Georgia Search and
Rescue response team.

■ RYTHM RUN -The
second annual Rhythm Run
will be held Saturday at 8
a.m. at the Houston Medical
Center Registration begins
at 8 a.m. followed by the
race at 8:30 a.m. Pre-regis

said, “their region asked us
to respond as part of our
mutual aid agreement.”
He said one ambulance
might remain down there

- The Warner Robins Police
Department will be conduct
ing a course on handgun
Basics for Women. The class
will be held at the Warner
Robins Police Department
Firing Range, beginning
Monday. The class will con
sist of two classroom ses
sions, Thursday from 7-9
p.m., and one session on
the firing range Saturday
from 8 a.m. to noon. The
classroom sessions will be
approximately two hours
and will cover topics about
handgun safety, shooting
and laws concerning hand
guns. The range session will
be approximately four hours
and will consist of shooting
exercises. You must attend
all sessions to complete the
course The cost of the course
is $25. For further informa

■ WR REC. SPRING
DAYS - The Warner Robins
Recreation Department will
begin registration March 12
for “Spring Dayz”, a day
camp for spring break. The
camp will be held from 7:30
a.m.-5:30 p.m., Monday
through Friday (five days),
April 2-April 6 for boys and
through the rest of the week.
“They are still organizing to
determine what resources
they still need,” he said.
“Eventually they’ll bring
in temporary ambulances,
but until then they’ll use the
mutual aid agreement.”
“They’re doing it well,”
he added. “I’m amazed with
the response. God forbid if it
ever happened here. I hope
we’d do that well.”
